Cagle's Motor Court Opens $25,000 PLANT 230 FEET LONG. CAPACITY IS 30 Public Invited Tc Inspect Town's Newest Facility For Tourists The new $25,000 Cagle's Motor Court, tonstruction of which was begun last January, this week opened for business. The court is situated on a 15 acre tract, on the west side of U. S. Highway No 23, south, one mile south of Franklin. In announcing i.ts opening, the Cagle brothers ? A. G. and A. H Cagle ? the owners and op erators, extended an invitation to the people of this commun ity to inspect the new motor hostelry. Visitors are requested to come in the afternoons. The court, a single, one-story structure, 15 feet by 230 feet, has a capacity of about 30 per sons It contains an even dozen rooms, three with twin beds, the others with double beds, and, in addition, is equipped with roll-away beds. The long structure is just one room wide, so as to provide cross ventiliation for each room Two rooms at each end are so arranged that they may be thrown together for two fam ilies, if desired, or the connect ing door may be locked and each room is private. Each of the rooms, 14 x 11 feet, has private shower bath and clothes closet. All are at tractively furnished, and the court is equipped throughout with Venetian blinds. There are six neatly numb ered entrances ? one for every two rooms ? and each entrance has its own small porch. The small porches will be equipped, it was explained, with ventilated awnings, all metal. The building is constructed chiefly of cement blocks, made in Franklin, with stucco finish, giving it a Spanish note The trimmings are a bright blue. The interior is finished with plaster, while white pine was used for the ceilings. Just in front of the court proper is the dining room and kitchen, immediately off the highway. The dining room. which has north-south cross- ' ventilation, has a capacity of 40 The entire plant is electrically equipped. The water in the 500 gallon tank of the hot water cir culating system is heated by electricity; portable space elec tric heaters are used to heat the bedrooms; and both the range and grill in the dining room are electric. The court has its own deep well water system, with a huge tank atop one end of the build ing. ! " Graveled parking places are being built both at the front and the rear of the court.
