Craig Stepp Arrested On Liquor Law Charge Craig Stepp, of Aquone, was arrested by Highway Patrolman J. P Smith, Jr., and Deputy Sheriff Walter Dean August 2 on a liquor charge. The officers reported finding seven and a half gallons of whiskey on Mr. Stepp's prem Mrs. Rickman Dies; Funeral Held Friday At Ccwee Funeral services for Mrs. Bertie May Elmore Rickman. 54, who died Wednesday af last week, were held at the Cowee Baptist church Friday morning at 11 o'clock. The Rev. C. C. Wel?h, pastor, officiated, assist ; ed by the Rev. N. E. Holden, of i the West's Mill community In terment followed in the church cemetery. Mrs Rickman died at her home in the Leatherman section | Wednesday afternoon at 4 o'clock, following an illness of three years. Death was attri buted to paralysis and compli cations. A daughter of the late John I T. Elmore and Mary Green El more, Mrs. Rickman, had lived in the Cowee and Leatherman section of the county all her life. She was a member of the Cowee Baptist church. June 28, 1916 she was married to Robert C. Rickman. who survives. The pallbearers were William Elmore, Theodore Elmore. Dor sey Elmore, Clinton Elmore, Jack Hensey and Coy Franklin, nephews of the deceased. Surviving are her husband; one daughter. Miss Marialice Rickman, who lives at the home; and two brothers, J B. Elmore and Omer Elmore, of Franklin, Route 3; and five sis ters, Mrs. M. DeHart, of Swain county, Mrs. J D. Potts, of Franklin, Mrs. Floyd Carden, of Sylva, Mrs. C. T. Pruitt. of Franklin, Route 3, and Miss Luna Elmore. The arrangements were under the direction of the Potts fu neral home. ises.
