MacConnell, operator of Hotel Hearn, accompanied by Mrs MacConnell, who operates the Albemarle in Toccoa, Ga., left Wednesday for a 10-day fishing trip and visit at Day tona Beach and Miami, Fla. Mrs. Etta Straine, of Sacra mento, Calif., is spending sev eral weeks in Macon County visiting her sisters, Mrs. R. M Shook, in the Bethel commun ity, and Mrs Alec Shook, in the Buck Creek section near High lands, and her brother Sam W. Stanfield and family at their home on Bonny Crest, and other relatives and friends in the county. Miss Ann Lyle. daughter of Mr. and Mrs S H. Lyle, left this week for Gainesville, Fla , where she will spend several days visiting her aunt, Miss Woodene Hendrix, and other re j latives and friends. John W Edwards, who recent ly underwent an operation at the Angel hospital, is reported by hospital attendants to be i resting well. Mrs. E. J. Miss Marie Houston, of Franklin and Washington, D. C., to Robert M Darragh, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs R. M. Dar ragh, of Washington, in a cere mony solemnized August 3 in Clayton, Ga. The Rev. Thomas Hughes Wheelis, pastor of the First Methodist church in Clayton, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. The bride wore a black crepe dress with white accessories. Her corsage was of red rose buds. Mrs. Darragh was formerly em ployed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and is at present serving in the Navy department as secretary to General Hill, in the headquarters of the marine corps. Mr Darrah is a graduate of the Eastern high school in Washington, and formerly was i a member of the Elks Band. He ; is employed at the Naval Gun 1 Factory, Washington.
