A. Bufus Morgan, church rectoi officiating. The church was decorated with native evergreens and bas kets of white gladioli, white dahlias and white phlox. Mrs. A. C. Holt, church organist, gave a program of organ music before the ceremony, including Mendelssohn's Song With Words and Traumerei: The bride entered the church on her father's arm to the strains of the wedding march from Lohen grin. Miss Deborah Carroll, cousin of the bride was maid of honor and the bride's only attendant. She was gowned in white organ die and carried a bouquet of white lilies and tuberoses Frederick Amerman Dale, fath er of the bridegroom, was best man. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory taffeta gown wi.th rosepoint lace. Her finger tip veil of illusion was caught with orange bloss oms, and she carried a cascade bouquet of white orchids and white roses. Following the ceremony, an informal reception was held at the Highlands Country Club, after which Mr. and Mrs. Dale left for a wedding trip. Upon their return they will reside in Burlington. Out-of-town guests attending j the wedding were Mrs Walter Carroll, Miss Deborah Carroll and Walter CaToll, Jr., of New Orleans. La., Mr. and Mrs. Walt er Barnes, New Orleans. Miss Suzette Hull of Roanoke, Va., has returned home after a week's visit with Miss Frances Dear at "Yon-Way", the summer home of her parents, Brigadier 3eneral and Mrs. William Rv Dear on the Brevard road. Miss Dear and Miss Hull were room mates at St. Catherine's school in Richmond. Mr and Mrs. L. L. Ager of the University of North Caro lina, Chapel Hill, arrived Fri day for a visit with Mrs. Ager's parents, Mr and Mrs. Kenyon 3. Zahner. Dr. and Mrs. C. H. Hemphill leave Friday for their Florida nome for the winter ,and ex pect to return to Highlands the first of May next year for the season. Church Plans New Building ' i Plans have been completed ! by the Highlands Presbyterian church for a basement which will (urnish a dining room, kitchen, three class rooms and a furnace room. The space for these rooms has been secured by excavating und er the church building, and much of the excavaiian has been : completed, At the present time the building of new foundations and basement walls is progress | ing slowly. ? The Rev. Jack B. Davidson, pastor, said that at this stage some $1,700 has been raised with a goal of $3,000. Mr. Davidson said also that this ad ditional space will make possible the realization of two aims of the church to provide a full program, that of fellowship and recreation, and that other plans for a fuller church program In the future will came nearer with the completion of this project.
