For Rosh Hashana
Sanders' Stare and the store
of M. Blumenthal are closed to
day (Thursday i and Friday for
the observance of Rosh Hashana,
the Jewish New Year.
In the Jewish calendar, this
is the year 5707, dating from the
Exodus from Egypt.
The Sanders and Blumenthal
families went to Asheville for
Rosh Hashana services at Bikur
Cholim synagogue.
The two stores also will be
closed, the owners announced,
on Saturday, October 5, in ob
servance of Yom Kippur, Jew
ish day of atonement.
