Waldroop Dies At Age Of 85; Rites Held At Carson Chapel Mrs. Josephine Waldroop, ?5, died in the Angel hospital neie > Monday morning about 4 o'clock, where she had been a patient since September 10 where she received a broken hip In a lall ? at her home, franklin, Route I. j "Aunt Josie as she was, af fectionately knovCn to many friends, was the former Miss Josephine Allman, daughter o: the late George Allman and Maltha Crawford Allman, and had lived her entire life in Ma con county. Born October 29, 1860, had she lived another Jay she would have celebrated her 86th birthday. She was a mem- : ber of the Carson Chapel Meth odist church. In 1882 she was married to Thad S Waldroop, who died in October, 1922. Funeral services were held [Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 J o'clock at the Carson Chapel Methodist church, with the Rev W. Jackson Huneycutt, pastor, ! officiating, assisted by the Rev. | D. P. Grant, pastor of Louisa Methodist church. Interment followed in the church ceme tery. The pallbearers were Harold Moore, Earl Henson, George Conley, Edd Wallace, Fred Bry son a(id Tom Wilkes. The survivors include five sons, Burnell, Byron, ?.ert. Nel son and Gilmer Waldroop, all of Franklin, Route 1; two daugh ters, Mrs. Claude Harden, of Canton, and Mrs. Wade A. Reece, of Andrews; and 24 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren Bryant funeral home was In charge of the arrangements. Macon County Memorial Post No . 7339, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will elect officers at a meeting next Thursday night at 7:30 o'clock, it has been an nounced by Howard E. Barnard, post commander. The meeting will be held In the American Legion hall. The post i.s con ducting a membership cam paign, and Commander Barnard emphasized that all Macon County overseas veterans are in vited to attend the meeting, re gardless of whether they are members. The junior class of the Frank lin High school will hold a Hallowe'en carnival at the school Saturday night.
