HIGDON ENTERTAINS WITH DINNER PARTY Mrs. Lyman Higdon enter tained with a dinner party at her home Friday of last week for about 15 friends and em ployes of the Frances shjp. The house throughout was beauti fully arranged with Christmas decorations. Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Kemp er, of Minot, N. D., have been spending the- Christmas holi days with Mrs. Kemper's par ents. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Slagle, at their home. Franklin, Route 1 Miss Nettie Hurst has return ed to her home, Franklin, Route 3, after spending the holidays with her sister, Mrs. Nora May, in the Flats community. Mrs. Stedman Mitchell and daughter, Susan, of Sylva. spent a few davs last Franklin with Mrs. Stedman's uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Higdon. and other rela tives here. Mrs. E. Raby, Dies; Rites Held Sunday Mrs. Ella Raby, 59, died at her home in the Burningtown section last Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, following an ill ness of 10 months. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Burningtown Baptist church, with the Rev. George A. Clo<sj'. officiating Interment followed in the church ceme tery. Mrs. Raby, the former Miss Ella Reeves, was a life-long resi dent of Macon County. She was married to Charles Raby, whc survives. She was a member of the Burningtown, Baptist church The pallbearers were Marvin Seven years ago W J.
