Lester Arnold CLOSED WEDNESDAY - AFTERNOONS ' i . . Starting Next Wednesday, January 29th THE UNDERSIGNED FRANKLIN MERCHANTS WILL CLOSE THEIR STORES Each Wednesday at 12:30 p- m UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE We have decided, to close Wednesday afternoons for two reasons : 1. The grocery stores here already are closing. We believe that most persons come to town to shop on a day when they can buy their groceries at the same time they purchase other goods. We feel that our closing the same afternoon, therefore, would work a hardship on nobody. 2. Most other lines of business close at noon Saturday, thus giving their employes a half-day off each week. Of course we cannot close Saturdays ? that would inconvenience the public. But we can give our employes a half-holiday, like other workers, by closing Wednesdays at noon. BELK'S DEPT. STORE M.
