Roland, who have been living at Oak Ridge, Tenn., for about a year, last week returned to this county, and are living in the Leatherman community. Chairman W. E. (Gene) Bald win, of the board of county commissioners, was in Waynes ville last Thursday afternoon to attend the annual meeting of the board of the district health department. The district is made up of Macon, Swain, Jack son, Haywood, and Transylvania counties and the Cherokee In dian reservation. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Higgins i and daughter, Mrs. Frank Hig don, Jr., are spending several I weeks in Florida. Miss Betty Callahan, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Cal lahan, left last week for Greens boro, where she entered Woman's college of the University of North Carolina.
