daughter. Miss Katherine Day
toil. to William Garrett Davis,
son of Mf and Mrs. Nat Davis,
also of Route 1, January 25, at
Clayton. Ga.
The bride was attired in a
suit of blue with black acces
sories.
Mr. and Mrs. Davis were both
educated at the Slagle school,
in this county Mr Davis at
present is- assisting his father
on the latter's farm

and Mrs. John Dalton Sunday.
January 26, in celebration of
Mrs. Daltonjs sixty-eighth birth
day.
Members of the immediate
family attending were Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Gibson. Mr. and
Mrs. Jim Holbrooks, Mr. and
Mrs Weaver Gibson, Mr. and
Mrs. Robert Bryson, Mrs. Mamie
Reynolds, Mrs Sam Gibson, Mr
and Mrs. Frank Murray, and
Mr and Mrs. Carrol Gibson.
Other guests and relatives of
the family attending were Miss

Joe Dalton, Mr. and Mrs. Lon

Pattillo, who is in the navy, is
stationed in Washington.
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Roland,
who have been living at Oak
Ridge, Tenn., for about a year,
last week returned to this
county, and are living in the
Leatherman community.
Chairman W. E. (Gene) Bald
win, of the board of county
commissioners, was in Waynes
ville last Thursday afternoon to
attend the annual meeting of
the board of the district health
department. The district is
made up of Macon, Swain, Jack
son, Haywood, and Transylvania
counties and the Cherokee In
dian reservation.

a serious eye operation for a
condition resulting from auto
mobile injuries, is much improv
ed. and is here for a visit with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
L. Dalton, at their home in the
West's Mill community.
