W. M. Hurley Succumb* To Htirt Ailment W. M Hurley, 65, died at a Franklin hospital March 3 at 3 p. m., of a heart ailment. He had been sick only three days. Mr. Hurley, former Macon 1 County man who had been liv ing in Sylva, was moving his family to Cartoogechaye when he became ill. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Hope Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and Burial followed in the Mt. Zion church cemetery. Survivors include his widow, 1 Mrs Pallace Wilson Hurley; five sons, Bass Hurley, of Gastonia, Fred, of Bryson City, Floyd, of Sylva, and Chester and Jack, all who live at the home; seven daughters, Mrs. Dess Burness, of Bryson City, Mrs. Julia Pass more, of Franklin, Route X, Mrs. Margie Grant, of Andrews, and Victoria, Mellie, Hester, and Iva Lee, all of whom live at the home; and one sister, Mrs. Betty Painter, of Murphy. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Potts funeral home. Funeral Services Are Conducted For Pendergrass Baby Funeral services were held at the Cartoogechaye Baptist church for Kenneth Pender grass, infant son of Mr. and JOIN Bryant Mutual Burial Association ? Oldest and Strongest in the County Mr*. Arnold Ptndergrau, of Franklin, Route 1, at S o'clock March 4. The Rev Bill Sorrells con ducted the service, and burial followed in the church ceme tery. Surviving are the parents and two brothers, Herschel and Claude. Arrangements were under the direction of Bryant funeral home. Johnnie Kusterer was named vice-president to succeed Jesse Ray, who resigned, and Mrs. Allie Ray Potts again was chosen secretary-treasurer. The other seven directors are George W. Reece, T. T. Reeves, Cecil Crawford, and J. E. Cabe, all reelected, and S. E. Potts, Freeman Hastings, and James R. Holbrooks.
