JUAN HASTINGS TAKENBYDEATH Funeral For Prentiss Farmer Conducted At Pleasant Hill Juan W. Hastings, 65, well known farmer of the Prentiss section, died at his home Wed nesday night of last week. Mr Hastings, died following an ill ness of several weeks. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist church, of which he was a nember Friday, at 2 p. m. The Rev. George W. Cloer conducted the service, and burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Benbow Dills, Thad Stockton, Howard Bingham, Worley Dehart, Be chard Dills, and Woodrow Mason Surviving are two sons, Frank and Bill Hastings, 01 Prentiss: four daughters, Mrs. Ollle Mae Sanders, Mrs. Lassie Dills, Mrs!' Ruby Sanders, and Miss Dottie Hastings, all o. Prentiss, one brother, Ed Hast ings of Easley, S. C., one sister, Mrs. Carrie Stockton, of Cand ler, and 16 grandchildren. Nearly 5,000 Virginia school children visited this "living laboratory" of early American history dur ing the five-month period from November 1 through March 31, it was announced by Colonial Williamsburg, Inc., the organiza tion which is carrying forward the restoration of this colonial capital i to its 18th century ap pearance. A total of 97 Virginia public schools sent 4,349 students here in special groups during the winter months when the hos tesses and escorts who guide visitors through the exhibition buildings were able to give the classes more Individual atten tion. The organized tours of Vir ginia school children proved so successful that plans are now under consideration to extend them to include school groups in the neighboring states of North Carolina and Maryland.
