MISS FOL'TS BECOMES BKlltE OK PAIL CHILDERS Miss Dorothy Fouts, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. R Fouts, of Franklin, Route 3, became the bride of Paul Childers, son of Mr and Mrs. W. R. Childers, of Franklin. Route 3, and Pontiac, Mich., in a ceremony solemn ized last Sunday at 12 noon at the Iotla Baptist church, im mediately following church serv ices ; The Rev. Norman E. Holden, pastor of the church and of the couple, was 'the officiating min ister, using the ring ceremony. The church was decorated with a prolusion of mountain rhododendron, spruce, and ferns interspersed with baskets of white roses. Seven-branched candelabra holding lighted white tapers added to the effect. A program of wedding music was rendered by Miss Helen Gibson, pianist, who played Schubert's "Serenade" prior to the ceremony and the wedding march from "Lohengrin" for the prosessional. "I Love You Truly", by Carrie Jacobs Bond, was played softly during the tak ing o.f the vows. For the reces sional, Mendelsshon's wedding march was played. The bride, who was given In marriage by her brother, James Reid Fouts, wore a gown of white satin. The bodice was tightly fitted with a long waist line, deep round yoke of lace which was outlined by wide lace, and long sleeves ending in a point over the hand. The full skirt ended in a long train Her veil of illusion was finger tip and caught to a coronet of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of white roses, white glad ioli and baby's breath. Miss Betty Frances Ennis, of Morrisville, Tenn., served as maid of honor, and the brides maids were Miss Maude Etchi son, of Morrisville, Miss Dessie Mae Fouts, cousin of the bride, of Franklin, Route 3, Mrs. Hazel Childers Smith, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Lula Gray Yates, of Morrisville. Nyle T. Roper served as best man, and the ushers were Jos eph W. Fouts and Marshall J. Fouts, both cousins of the bride. The flower girls were Nancy Cable, who Was dressed in pink net, floor length, and Barbara Ann Cruise, who was dressed in a floor length dress of blue net. Mrs. Childers is a graduate of the Franklin High school, class of 1940, and of Western Carolina Teachers college, Cullowhee. For the past two years she has been a membeiN of the Clemmons school faculty in Forsythe county. Mr. Childers received his ed ucation in the Franklin High school and- spent two years in the armed forces, several months of which was in Ger many. He is employed in Pon tiac, Mich., where the couple will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Childers left immediately following the tak ing of the vows on a wedding trip to points In Tennessee and Kentucky. For traveling the bride donned a suit of white with which she wore brown and white accessories. Her corsage was of pink rosebuds and green ery. ? Mrs. Fouts, mother of the bride, entertained with a cake cutting at her home on Sat urday night for the wedding couple, members of the wedding party, and a few invited friends. Miss Jessie Ruth Stewart will return to Cullowhee Sunday to attend summer school at West ern Carolina Teachers' college, after spending two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Har- : ley Stewart, of Franklin, Route MISS CAROLYN LEACH WEDS KENTUCKY MAN Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. Jones, of Mur?y' Ky. was matron of honor, and Mr.' Jones served as the B?01 * best man. Also present for the ceremony were Mr and Mrs^H U Roehms, Jim Roehms, Miss Ruth Skellion, and Miss Gladys Ske - lion. The bride chose for her wed ding a light brown suit with brown and white accessories. Her corsage was of Talisman I roses. Mrs Madden is a graduate of the Franklin High school, class of 1945, and has been attend ing Murray State Teachers col lege, Murray, Ky. Mr. Madden, a former member of the marine corps with over 'seas service, is attending Mur ray State. He is a graduate of the Mayfield High school After a short wedding trip through western Kentucky, the couple will be at home with the groom's parents in Mayfield.
