MISS El'NICE VIOLA RAY WEDS M. K. DOSTEJt Miss Eunice Viola Ray and | Merriman Russell Doster were married on the evening of June 14 at the home of their pastor, the Rev- D' P- Grant. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Ray, of Franklin, Route 2. Mr. Doster is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Doster, also of Franklin, Route ?. Members of the immediate families and a few close friends were present. The bride wore an aqua blue suit with white and black ac cessories Her corsage was of pink carnations. Mrs Doster, mother of the bridegroom, wore a navy blue iuit with white accessories. Her corsage was also of pink car nations. Mrs. Doster attended the Franklin High school. Mr. Doster is a graduate of Newport, Tenn. High school. During the war, he served two years in the army air corps. The couple left the following Sunday for Spartanbui'g, S. C., where they plan to make their heme. Mr. Doster is in the mer cantile business in Spartanburg. MISS CORBIN BECOMES BK1DE OF DEWAYNE A. LEE Announcement has been made by Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Corbin, of Gneiss, of the marriage of their daughter. Miss Doris Ar lenia Corbin, to Dewayne A. Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs Leonard Lee, of Pelican Rapids, Minn , in a ceremony performed at the home June 14 at 4 o'clock. The Rev. Charles E. Parker, pastor of the Franklin Baptist church officiated, using the double ring ceremony, before an improvised alter of mountain greenery, leucathia and fearns, with tall baskets of white gladiolus, interspersed with se ven branched candelabra hold ing lighted white tapers. Prior to the taking of the vows, Mrs. Henry Cabe played "Liebestraum" by Lizst, Schu bert's "Serenade," "I Love You TrUly" and "By The Waters of Minnetonka" by Lieurance. Mrs. Wetzel Lee, sister-in-law Qf the bridegroom, soloist, sang "Be cause" and " If God Left Only You." The wedding march from "Lohengrin was used for the processional. Little Kay Vinson, cousin of the bride, was flower girl, she wore a frock of blue taffeta and carried a basket of mixed flowers. Wetzel Lee, of Pelican Rapids, Minn., served as best man to his brother. The ushers were Duane Darrow and Frank Forbes, both of Oak Ridge, Tenn. Following a reception held immediately after the ceremony the couple left by motor for a wedding trip through the Rocky Mountains. Mrs. Lee, Is a graduate of the Franklin high school. She at tended Woman's college of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, and was graduated from the University of Tenne ssee, Knoxville, Tenn. Mr. Lee received the B. S. degree in chemistry from Con cordia college in Moorhead, Minn., and is now employed by Carbide and Carbon Chemicals corporation in Oak Ridge, Tenn The bride's parents entertain ed with a dinner at Kelly's Tea Room on the Friday evening be fore the wedding. Guests in cluded members of the wedding party, out-of-town persons here for the wedding, and a few close friends. Nineteen were present. MISS LOLITA BALDWIN IS BRIDE OF J. N. WEST Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. C H Parrish, of Franklin, Route 3, are expecting their sons, Jewell and Titus Parrish, of Detroit, Mich., the last of this week lor a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Terrell Parrish have returned to their home in Detroit, Mich., after a visit here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H Parrish, of Franklin, Route 3. On their return, they were accompanied by Maxine Par rish, of Bryson City, who went to Detroit to visit her father, Jewell Parrish, and uncles and aunts who live In the Michigan city. The Misses Margaret antj Helen Moore, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Moore, have re turned from a visit to their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs Henley Moore, at Virginia Beach, Va. Mijs. Rebecca Patten, of Phil adelphia, left Tuesday, after spending several days here as the guest of Mrs. J. E. Perry. Mrs. Patten, who was reared in Franklin, is the former Miss Re becca Smith. Mrs. W. L. Higdon, of West Asheville, is spending a few days in Franklin. Mrs. Higdon, a na tive of this community, is the former Miss Mary Siler. J. N. Haney, of Aquone, und erwent a major operation Tues day at Angel clinic. Raleigh Shook, of Franklin, who has been under treatment at Angel clinic for the past two weeks, has sufficiently recovered to return to his home. Charles Stanfield, of Culla saja, is a patient at Angel clin ic, where he underwent a ma jor operation last Saturday. Howard Myers, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Myers, is recuperating, after an opera tion performed at Angel clinic Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. John Wasilik have just returned from New York, where they attended the graduation of their son, John H. Wasilik, from Manhattan col lege. The younger Mr. Wasilik will remain in New York for eight weeks, where he will teach laboratory and problem classes in physics. He. plans to do graduate work in the fall at Catholic university, Washington, D. C., where he has received an assistantship. While away, the elder Mr. Wasilik attended the reunion of his class, Yale 1917 S. Miss Elizabeth Wasilik, who has been attending New Rochelle college. New Rochelle, N. Y., ac companied her parents on their return to Franklin. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Baldwin spent last week-end in Winston Salem, visiting Mrs. Baldwin's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Crawford. Hall Callahan, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Callahan, returned to his home Sunday, following an 11-day serious illness at Angel hospital. His condition is much improved. Mrs. Bob Sloan underwent an operation Tuesday at the C. J. Harris Community hospital in Sylva. Her condition is reported satisfactory. Mrs. George Sheldon, of Salt Lake City, Utah, is visiting her sister, Mrs. T. J. Johnston, at Mrs. Johnston's home on Harri son avenue. Miss Harriette Rogers, who is a student at the University of New Mexico, Alberqueque, N. Mex., has been visiting her cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hlggins, and Mrs. Frank Hig don at their home on Harrison avenue. Miss Rogers stopped here while on her way to her home in Leesburg, Fla.
