Mr. and Mrs. Harold Waldroop, of Franklin, have announced the engage ment of their daughter, Miss Betty Jane Waldroop, above, to Harry Holmes Mizelle, of New port, N. C. The wedding will take place in the early summer in Franklin. i ? Continued on Page Two MISS DILLARD BECOMES BRIDE OF J. W. COLDERS tor of the First Methodist church of Dillard, and the Rev. R. B. Harrison, Baptist pastor, officiated, using the double ring ceremony. Miss Mary Sanders, of Com merce, Ga., presented a program of music. Mrs. Louis A. Edwards of Highlands, a cousin of the bride, sang "Because" preceding the ceremony, and after the ceremony, "The Lord's Prayer." The traditional wedding marches were used. Miss Bee Weatherly, of Mountain City, was her cousin's maid of honor. Mrs. Jack Brock way, cousin of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. James Dillard and Mrs. Henry Dillard, sisters-in-law of the bride, Miss Lucille Edwards of Highlands, a cousin, and Miss Josephine Lawrence of Atlanta. Little Linda Vaughan, of Chattanooga, Tenn., was flower girl and car ried a miniature basket of rose petals. Young John Dillard, the bride's nephew, was ringbearer. William Crosswell, of Colum bia, S. C, was best man, and groomsmen included brothers of the bride, Earl, James, and Henry Dillard, a cousin P. A. Crunkleton, and Walter Wilfond, of Athens, Ga. Ushers were George Weather ly, Robert White, Jack Brock way, Dillard Davis, Charlie Brown, Louis Edwards and Claude Dillard, cousins of the bride. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. She wore a gown of ivory Duchess satin, featuring a tight bodice trim med with tiny self-covered but tons, leg-of-mutton sleeves, pointed at the wrist, and a full skirt with bustle back. Her il lusion veil, belonging to a life long friend of the family, Mrs. Sally Fanny Yow, of Athens, Ga., was of silk net attached to a Juliet cap of rose point lace beaded with seed pearls. Mr. Coldren and his brid left for a wedding trip, the bride traveling in a heavenly blue gabardine suit, with white blouse made from her moth er's hand-embroidered linen wedding , dress. White acces - rorles and a bouquet of white orchida completed her costume The bride was graduated from the Dillard High school and the University of Georgia. For the past few years she has been a teacher of home economics in the Rabun County High school. The bridegroom Is a graduate of Fayette City high achool la Pennsylvania, and is now a stu oent of engineering and hotel management at Georgia Tech.
