Former Miss Latham On Way Here From Her Holland Home Mrs Thomus oetivsema, of Groningen, Holland, the former Miss Willa Latham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Latham, of Buck Creek Ranch, arrived in New York Monday and is ex pected here Saturday to spend the summer with her parents. Accompanying her on the trip from Europe to the United States are her two sons, Galtjo and William Winchester Geert sema, aged 16 and 15, respec tively. Mrs. Geertsema, who has made her home in Holland since her marriage, and her family lived under the Germans for five years, their town of Gronin gen having been one of the last Nazi strongholds in Holland evacuated when the Germans Jos. Ashear Marks 40th Anniversary Of Coming To U. S. Joseph Ashear, retired Frank lin merchant, celebrated the lortieth anniversary of his ar rival in the United States July 8. Mr Ashear, a native of Le banon, Syria, came to this country when he was 20 years old, and came to Franklin Jan uary, 1911. He has one brother in this country, a brother in Egypt, and a number of relatives in Leban on.
