Explain Why Water Is
Temporarily Cloudy
Commenting on complaints
i received in the past few days
that the town water is cloudy
2nd has a taste and smell,
town officials said Thursday
| that this is not due to chlorine
put in the water at the Murphy
road filtering operation. The
new water mains being installed
are sterilized with a heavy solu
tion of chlorine, it was explain
ed, and then flushed out. Ap
parently the flushing did not
eliminate all the sterilizatlng
chlorine, and the remainder is
what is affecting the water. It
should clear up within a day or
; two, it was said.
