Mr. Potts is the son of Postmaster and Mrs. Charles C. Potts of Highlands. Mr. and Mrs. Potts are Resid ing in one of the Marett apart ments on Church street. Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Sargent have had as guests during the past week at their cottage on East Main street Mr. and Mrs. Rene Blunc-Roos, of ' Philadelphia, Penna. Mr. Blanc-Roos is pro fessor of French at the Uni versity of Pennsylvania. Labor Day week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs John C. Blanch ard, at Blanchard court, were Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Cathers, of Charlotte. Mr. Cathers is a rep resentative of the "Western Un ion Telegraph company. Frank <3. Westbrook, of Wash ington, D. C.,-and S/Sgt. Sam Westbrook, of Cheyenne, Wyo., were recent guests of their mother and aunt, Mrs. A. L. Westbrook and Miss Fannie G. I ucas, at their home on the Dillard road. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dudley, of Athens, Ga., spent the week end at the summer home of Mrs. Dudley's mother, Mrs. Charles tlu Bignon, preparing the prop erty to turn over to its new owners, Mr. and Mrs. Curt A. Wilson, who purchased the place some time ago for a year tound residence. Dr. Thom Carter, his mother and daughter, Mrs. Haidee Cart er and Miss Anne Carter, had as week-end guests at the Bap tist pastorium Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Barnett, of Aiken, S C. Miss Allie Sue Price, daugh ter of Mr and Mrs. Raymond J. Price, left Wednesday to enter the nurses' training class at Mission hospital In Asheville. Miss -Price is a Highlands High school honor graduate of last June. Mr. and Mrs. George Saussy and family returned to their home in Columbia, ?. C., last Saturday, ? after spending the season at "Highfield" on the Walhalla road. Mrs. Saussy will leave Columbia the middle of September by plane for a visit with her son and daughter-in law In Los Angeles, Calif. Mrs. O. F. Schiffli left Friday 10 return to Clewlston, Fla , 'vhere she has accepted a teach ing position in the Clewiston High school. Going down with Mrs. Schilfli was Miss Anne Eidson, of Thomasville, Ga., and Highlands, who has accepted her first teaching position in the same school Capt. and Mi:s. Val S. Pierson and baby daughter, of Fort Benning, Ga., were Labor day week-end guests of Capt. Pier son's father, S. P. Pierson, at his home on the Bowery road. Rotary Club Will Hold Ladies' Night Program On Tuesday The Highlands Rotary club will observe its annual ladies' night next Tuesday with a bar becue supper, to be served at 7 p. m. in the park opposite the post office. The supper will be followed by an open air square dance on Main street, it has been an nounced by S. C. Russell, club secretary. Mr. Russell added that jnvltations have been extended by the Highlands club to a number of adjacent Rotary clubs to join in the festivities. Farnum To Conduct Communion Service A service of Holly Communion will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation Sun day morning at 8 o'clock by the Rev. Arthur W. Farnum, rector of St. Mary's church in Ashe ville. The morning prayer and sermon will be by Rev. Farnum at 11 o'clock. W. Altstaetter, resigned. Ralph M. Sargent, in retiring as president of the institution, pointed out that the Museum pnd Laboratory have both shown a fine growth in accomplish ments and interest during the past few years, and said that the season this year has been the most active in the history cf the organization.
