Mrs. H. E. Baldwin
Diet At Her Home After
Long Illness
Mrs Harley E. Baldwin, moth
er of nine children, died at her
home at Franklin, Route 2, Sat
urday morning at 3:45 o'clock
following a long illness.
Mrs. Baldwin, who was the
former Miss Priscilla Jane
Humphreys, was born in 1891 in
Macon county. She married Mr
Baldwin in 1906 and spent mast
of her life in this community.
She was a member of the
Franklin Baptist church.
Funeral services were held
Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock
In the Franklin Baptist church
with the Rev. Charles E Parker
officiating. Burial followed in
the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ous Bald
win, Lawrence Patton, Cecil
Baldwin, Joe Ashear, Thad Pat
ton, Harry Thomas, Don Bald
win. and Neville Bateman.
Mrs. Baldwin is survived by
her husband; four daughters,
Mrs. Ralph Freeman, Weaver
ville; Mrs. Jack Guest. De
troit, Mich.; Mrs. John D. Wells,
Franklin; and Mrs. James Eav
enson, Waynesville; five sons,
Bert of Highlands, Vernon of
Franklin, Bill of Belle Glade,
Fla , Harold, Charles, and How
ard, all of Franklin; three
brothers, Charles Humphreys,
the Rev. George Humphreys of
Gainesville, Ga.; and the Rev.
U. G. Humphreys of Easley. S.
| C.; three sisters, Mrs. Bob
I Ganttl Canton; Mrs Margaret
McLean, Fletcher; and Mrs. An
nie Garrett, Pelzer, S. C.
The body lay in state at the
Bryant funeral home until 1
p. m. Monday. Directors of this
funeral home were in charge
of the arrangements.
