Fielder, of Tampa, Fla., to Robert A Patton, of Franklin The wedding took place at the Episcopal church at Valdosta, Ga., November 14. Mrs. Patton, who has spent a number of summer vacations at Franklin lodge, has long been prominent in the social and club life of Tampa She was active in the organization of Tampa's first garden club, served .for seven years as president of the Tampa Federation of Garden clubs, and was president of the state fed eration for one term. She is a life member of the Tampa Yacht and Country club and of the Palma Ceia Golf and Country club, and is an associate mem ber of the South Florida Fair association. She is the owner of the Fielder-Mitchell Awning company in Tampa. Mr. Patton is widely known in real estate and political cir cles. He is head of the Home Realty and Auction company and has been associated with a number of auction and real estate firms in the state. A former state senator and a three-term member of the lower house of the North Carolina general assembly, he served in a civilian capacity with the sig nal corps during World War 2, His duties in that work took him on missions to London and Paris. Mr. and Mrs. Patton, who re turned to Tampa after theii wedding on Friday, did not an nounce their marriage until the following Monday. Tney plan tc make their home at 4303 Bay snore boulevard, Tampa, in winter, and spend the summers here. they arrived in Franklin bj motor late Monday for about a week's visit at the Patton home here with Mr. Patton's sister Miss Olivia Patton, and those ol his children who are able tc come home for the Thanksgiv ing holidays. -Miss Seaman Engaged To James K. Daniels Announcement has been re ceived here from New York ol the engagement of Miss Patricia Adams Seaman to James Robin son Daniels. Mr. Daniels has s large nuriiber of relatives anc triends in Franklin, where he has spent many summer vaca tions at his mother's old home "Dixie Hall". Miss Seaman, who is the youngest daughter of the late George Williams Seaman and Mrs. Seaman, formerly of Fisk kill-on-Hudson, is a member ol an old Duchess tN. Y.) countj family that dates back to pre Revolutionary days. A grand daughter of the late John Petei deWindt, she is descended from Abigail Adams, only daughter ol John Adams. Mr. Daniels is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Daniels, of New York and Franklin, and is the nephew of Judge Frank A. Dan iels and of Josephus Daniels, editor of The News and Observ er and formerly secretary of the navy and ambassador to Mex ico. Another uncle, Charles K. Robinson, is editor of the Ashe ville Citizen-Times. His matern al grandfather, James L. Rob inson, was lieutenant-governor of North Carolina. ? ? Walk er, of Elkln, have announced the engagement of their daugh ter, Miss Dorothy Mae Walker, to Clarence Edwin Henry, son of Mrs. John Henry, of Frank lin, and the late Mr. Henry. Miss Walker Is a graduate of Elkin High school, attended Flora MacDonald college at Red Springs, and Is now a member of the senior class of Westmin ster Choir college at Princeton N. J. Mr. Henry was graduated from the Franklin High school and attended Weaver and Bre vard colleges. A veteran of ma rine corps service in World War 2, he is a partner in the Auto Parts and Equipment com pany here. Tne date for the wedding has not been set. NORFOLK GIRL BECOMES JAMES L. KEENEH'S BK1DE Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss. Juanita Wells, daughter of Mrs. Octie Wells, of Norfolk, Va., to James L. Keener. Mr. Keener is the son of Mrs. H. D. Tallent and a grandson of W. A. Keener, of Franklin. The wedding tcok place at the home of the bridegioom's uncle, T. W. Jones, in Norfolk, November 8, with the Rev. P Parker officiating. The home was decorated with crysanthemums, palms, ana ferns, and the living room was candelit for the ceremony. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her mother, wore a blue suit witn white accessories. Her corsage was of gardenias.
