RAINWATER Miss Barbara Jean Walters, I daughter of Mr and Mrs. Rob ert Maurice Walters, of Shelby ville, Ky., was married to Lup ton Veazey Rainwater, son of Charles Veszey Rainwater, of Highlands and Pensacola, Fla., and of the late Mrs. Sally Brown Rainwater, in a cere mony December 20, at 8:30 o'clock, in the First Presbyter ian church in Shelbyvllle. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Angus N. Gordon, of Louisville, assslted by the *Rev. Glover Daniel, of Shelbyvllle. The rostrum and choir-loft of the church were decorated with arrangements of white chry santhemums, palms and ferns, Interspersed with lighted tap ers in branched candelabra. Preceding the ceremony, a pro gram of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Harmon Nash, organist. Tex. and James Kingston Walters, Clifford Logan Walters and Carroll Thomas Eddie, of Shel byvllle. Mrs. James Kingston Walters, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a white faille taffeta gown made with puffed sleeves, tight bod ice, and bouffant skirt with bustle back and deep ruffle at the hem, worn ober crlnolln hoops, long white gloves ana i mantilla of French illusion woven with white faille taffeta roses. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses tied with red satin streamers. Bridesmaids were the Misses Frances Woodruff Street, of Cadiz, Ky., Mary Lou Wlther spoon, of Lawrenceburg, and Miss Jean Austin Moore, Mrs. Charles Benton Long, Jr., Mrs. Herbert Benton Klngsollng, in, all of Shelbyvllle, and Mrs. Thomas Pierce Bell, of Lexing ton. They wore white faille taf feta gowns similar to that worn by the matron of honor, with mantillas of French illusion, and carried American beauty roses. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Duchess satin and im ported Chantilly lace fashioned with a bertha banded with frag ile simulated seed pearl beading, with Basque bodice fastened down the back with small cov ered buttons, the long fitted sleeves tapering to points at the wrists and the full hoop skirt flowing gently Into a ca thedral train. Her French illu sion veil was attached to a pearl-strewn chantilly lace cap. Her flowers were stephanotis With all the joys of the season to you! Mrs. M Brown Edmondson, aunt o. the bridegroom, wore a black Chantllly lace gown and hei corsage was of purple orchids. Following the ceremony, a re ception was given by the briue'; parents at the home of Mrs Clifford Logan Walters, aunt o. the bride. Rhododendron, moun tain laurel, and white chrysan themums were used to deco rate the home. The brlde'f table was covered with a linei lace and centered with a four tiered wedding cake flanked by large five-pronged candelabra holding white wedding tapers. The reception music was furn ished by Miss Patrlca Tafel, oarplst. For traveling the bride wore a brown broadcloth suit with white ermine collar, small white ermine hat and a corsage of white orchids. After a wedding trip to New York City, Mr. ana Mrs. Rainwater will reside at 496 Bob-o-Llnk Drive, Lexing ton, Ky. Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. Sidney McCarty and family left Wednesday for a Christmas vacation in Wind ermire, Fla., where they will visit Mr. McCarty's parents, Dr. and Mrs. S. L. McCarty.
