MRS. MACK SUTTLES MISS BETTY SUE TILSON MARRIES MACK SUTTLES Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Tilson, of Gneiss, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Betty Sue Tilson, to Mack Suttles, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. M Suttles, of Brevard, Jan uary 3 at Clayton, Ga. The double ring ceremony was per formed by J C. Green, ordinary. The bride was attired in royal blue velvet, with black acces sories. Mrs. Suttles is a graduate of the Franklin High school and of Brevard college, and is employ ed in a secretarial position by the Ecusta taper corporation at Brevard. Mr. Suttles, who received his education at Brevard, spent four years overseas with the U. S. armed forces. He is em ployed by Hayes Motor company, in Brevard. The couple are making their home .at 616 Probart strefet, Brevard. Pupils Presented In Music Recital Piano pupils of Mrs. Weimar Jones and voice pupils of Mrs. Louis Manning, assisted by ex pression pupils of Mrs. R. S. Jones, were presented in re cital Friday evening of last week. The recital was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gilmer A. Jones. Approximately 50 persons, in addition to the 21 pupils ap pearing on the program, were present. On the 90-minute program the piano solos and duets were interspersed with vocal num bers and readings. MARGARET JONES HAS 9TH BIRTHDAY PARTY In celebration of her ninth birthday, Margaret Jones was honored with a party given by her mother, Mrs. R. S. Jones, at the Jones residence Wednes day afternoon of last week. During the afternoon games were played and motion pictures were made of the party. The birthday cake was cut and served with an Ice course. Twenty-five young friends of the honoree were present. Mrs. W. I. Nothstein left Tues day for Washington, D. C., to je with her son, Bob Brown, who is ill there. Miss Dorothy Jones To \Ve<l W. C. Chamberlain Mr and Mrs. Gilmer A Jones have announced the engage ment ol their daughter, Miss Dorothy Lyle Jones, to William Clinton Chamberlain,, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton G. Johnson. The wedding will take place in the early summer. The engagement was an nounced Wednesday evening at a small bridge party given by Miss Jones' aunt, Mrs. R. S. Jones, at her home. Personal Mention Vic Perry, student at the Uni versity ot North Carolina, Chap el Hill, spent the week-end here with his mother, Mrs. J. E. Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Poindex ter have moved into their new home In East Franklin. Devereux D. Rice, of Johns ton City, Tenn., formerly of Franklin, is seriously ill in an Atlanta hospital, friends here have learned. James A. Cook has returned from a visit of aeveral days In Athens, Oa. Mrs. Judith Jacobs, of Salem, Ore., and Springfield, Mo, has returned to Springfield, after spending several weeks visiting relatives In Macon County and her brother, Earl Hurst, at Ridgecrest. Fred S. Sloan, former Frank lin resident who is now pro gram leader of the North Car olina Extension service, was hera on business Wednesday of last week. Mrs. Paul Nave and baby are spending a few days with Mrs. Nave's mother, who lives near Johnson City, Tenn. Theo Siler is a patient at Emory University hospital in Atlanta, where he is under the care of Dr. C. W. Strickler, widely known heart speclallJt. Mr and Mrs E. 8. Purdom plan to leave today ( Thursday I (or a vacation In St. Peters burg, Fla. Mrs. T. W. Angel, Jr., and Miss Olive Patton left Friday for a trip to Florida. While away, Miss Patton will visit her brother, R. A. Patton, and Mrs. Patton in Tampa. Mrs Angel went to Clearwater for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs Charles Carmichael, who are spending the winter in Cler water. , Weimar Jones and Bob S.
