R. G. Rickman, of West's Mill,
has announced the marriage of
his daughter, Miss Mary Alice
Rickman, to Alvin Wynn, ot
Baxley, Ga.
The wedding took place Feb
ruary 6 at 7 p. m. at the home
of the Rev. Mr. Bowen, Baptist
minister in Baxley. Mr. Bowen
performed the ceremony, assist
ed by the bride's pastor, the
Rev. Mr. Forehan, pastor of the
Dunn Memorial Baptist church
in Baxley.
The bride is a graduate ol
the Franklin High school. After
a year's study at Nacoochee
school at Rabun Gap, Ga., she
spent two year's at Bessie Tift
college, Forsyth, Ga. She also
took a course In Bible at Mer
cer university, Macon, Ga.
She teaches English in the
high school at Dial, Ga., near
Baxley, and Is active in church
work, being young people's
leader and Sunday school pri
mary teacher in the Dunn Me
morial church at Baxley. Mr.
Yann is engaged in the trans
portation business.
Mr. and Mrs. Wynn are at
home at 307 South Main street,
Baxley.

Carl W. Cox has resigned his
position as forestry field assis
tant at the Coweta Experiment
station and has joined the Soil
Conservation Service. Mr. Cox,
whose new duties take him to
Oreat Bridge, Va., left Wednes
day, and will report for work
at Oreat Bridge Monday.
Mrs. John M. Archer, Jr., had
as her guests Saturday night
her mother, Mrs. L O. Payne, of
Lone Mountain, Tenn., and her
brother-in-law and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. Clyde Baumgarner, of
Hazard, Ky. Sunday Mrs. Archer
and children, Miss Mary Alice
and John M. Archer, III, ac
companied them to Fort Pierce,
Fla., for a short stay.
Miss Dorothy Jones spent last
week-end In Atlanta.

turned to Washington, D. C., last
week to be with her son, Bob

Arthur Blaine, of Otto, who
has been employed in Seattle,
Wash, for several months, and
was called home because of the
recent sickness and death of his
mother, Mrs. Charlie Blaine,
left here Wednesday for Seattle.
