In a short talk she pointed out that youth's first general critimism of the schools is the lack of physical equipment, criticism of the school is the ren are that the schools do not offer what the children wanted, do not teach them how to study, and do not prepare them to get along in life. Mrs. Johnson said various wants listed by the children are that they want to study more interesting things, that they want to take courses that deal with daily life, and that they want an equal chance for all children. Burners Are Required To Get Permits Burning permits are required between February 1, and June 1, J. Fred Bryson, county forest warden, pointed out this week. With spring approaching, Mr. Bryson said, there will be some burning to be done, and he urg> ed the people o 1 the county not only to obtain burning permits, as required, but also to be "e? tra careful not to let that fire escape into the forests we are depending on to make lumber some of these days". "Before burning", he urged, "be sure to get a permit from an authorized agent and have plenty of help; then don't leave until all danger of the fire's escaping is over." Burning permits are required, he said, if the fire is within 500 feet of woods, unless it is withn 500 feet of a dwelling. Permits, for which no charge is made, may be obtained from Mr. Bryson or any of the fol lowing: M. L.
