A native ol Franklin, he was the son of Mrs. Mary Harrison Jor dan, ol Charleston, and ol Loyd Brown, of Nelson, Ga. He attended the Franklin grammar school and was graduated from the Charleston high school He was a member Ojf the Bethel Methodist church, and a grand son of the late J. O. Harrison and Mrs. Althea Nolen Harri son. * Funeral services were held Wednesday of last week at 2 p. m. at the Franklin Metho dist church, with the Rev J. H. Brendall conducting the serv ices, burial following in the Franklin cemetery. Active pallbearers were cous ins, Earl Harrison, Charles Nol en, Horace Nolen, Lake V. Shope, James Waldroop, and Harry Wilhide, all of Franklin. The following close friends and business associates served as honorary pallbearers: Robert Schardt, Sheldon Smith, James Clark, Henry Meyer, and Neil Mund, all of Charleston. Misses Carolyn Albers and Pauline Baltzeger, also close friends, at tended with the family. Survivors include his parents; his step-father, Harry F. Jordan, of Charleston; one brother Eu gene Brown, one sister, Mrs. R. i R. Waters, and two nephews, | Odell and Robert Waters, all of Charleston; an aunt, Miss Amy Harrison, of Franklin; and three uncles, Ben Harrison, of Franklin, and Clifford N. and J. O. Two persons were killed in automobile accidents in this county in 1947. Eight counties ? Bruns wick, Cherokee, Gates, Hdye, - Madison, Mitchell, Mont gomery, and Pasquotank? had only one traffic fatal ity each. Broken main or sec ondary spring leaves or shackle bolts will be cause fon rejection. Free play or movement of the steering wheel, when measured at its rim, shall not exceed three inches." Rear Wheel Alignment: "Side slip (misalignment between right and left rear wheels), must not exceed 30 feet per mile as indicated by the align ment tester. The rear axle shall be reasonably square with ve hicle frame." The steering mechanism is of utmost importance to the safe operation of your car.
