died Monday ol last week at a
Charleston, S. C., hospital. A
native ol Franklin, he was the
son of Mrs. Mary Harrison Jor
dan, ol Charleston, and ol
Loyd Brown, of Nelson, Ga. He
attended the Franklin grammar
school and was graduated from
the Charleston high school He
was a member Ojf the Bethel
Methodist church, and a grand
son of the late J. O. Harrison
and Mrs. Althea Nolen Harri
son. *
Funeral services were held
Wednesday of last week at 2
p. m. at the Franklin Metho
dist church, with the Rev J. H.
Brendall conducting the serv
ices, burial following in the
Franklin cemetery.
Active pallbearers were cous
ins, Earl Harrison, Charles Nol
en, Horace Nolen, Lake V.
Shope, James Waldroop, and
Harry Wilhide, all of Franklin.
The following close friends
and business associates served
as honorary pallbearers: Robert

Survivors include his parents;
his step-father, Harry F. Jordan,
of Charleston; one brother Eu
gene Brown, one sister, Mrs. R. i

Odell and Robert Waters, all
of Charleston; an aunt, Miss
Amy Harrison, of Franklin; and
three uncles, Ben Harrison, of
Franklin, and Clifford N. and
J. O. Harrison, Jr., of Fort !
Worth, Texas.

Steering Assembly: "Front
wheels when free of the ground
shall not have more than one

shall be no dangerous or un
due looseness anywhere in the
steering mechanism. Any un
usual mechanical condition thai

rejection. Broken main or sec
ondary spring leaves or shackle
bolts will be cause fon rejection.
Free play or movement of the
steering wheel, when measured
at its rim, shall not exceed
three inches."
Rear Wheel Alignment: "Side
slip (misalignment between
right and left rear wheels),
must not exceed 30 feet per
mile as indicated by the align
ment tester. The rear axle shall
be reasonably square with ve
hicle frame."
The steering mechanism is of
utmost importance to the safe
operation of your car. A motor
ist who drives with loose steer
ing assembly is taking chances,
and betting his life on having
an accident. He Is also making a
sure bet that he won't pass the
Inspection test, for the Motor
Vehicles department has an
nounced that wheel alignment
and steering assembly are
among the most important items
to be checked in the inspection
test.

you meet on the highways, get
these vital mechanisms In safe
condition today. Your nearest
garage or repair shop will like
ly give you a free inspection,
and tell you if your car is in
safe condition. Many shops have
purchased sets of wheel align
ment testers similar to those
used at the state lanes.
