The teller's window, officials explained, merely accepted checking account deposits and cashed checks. The branch bank will provide all the ordinary services of a bank? make loans, keep its own books? and thus have immedi ately available for depositors in formation about their accounts accept time deposits, etc. The bank has announced that It will pay one per cent on time deposits. MEDUN AGAIN NAMEDPASTOR Will Divide Time Between Robbinsville, Highlands Methodist Churches ? With the approval of Bishop Clare Purcell, the Highlands Methodist church will resume its regular Sunday worship services in April, it has been announced by Dr. C. N. Clark, of Waynes ville, district superintendent. The Rev. W. T. Medlin, Jr., who has been pastor of the Robbinsville church for the past two and a half years, will divide his time with the Highlands church, spending two weeks of each month here, and two weeks in Robbinsville. The schedule for the High lands church is the second and Fourth Sunday mornings at 11 o'clock, beginning the second Sunday in April. This change in Mr. Medlin's work is made possible by the fact that the Fontana ch(irch, with which he shared his time, is calling a full time pastor. Mr. Medlin served the High lands church from October, 1944, to October, 1945, and mem bers of the congregation have expressed pleasure at his return. Mrs. Medlin is the former Miss June Thompson of Highlands. Lenten Service Is Set For 3 This Afternoon Lenten services this week at the Episcopal Church of the In carnation will he held this (Thursday) afternoon at 3 o'clock, instead of the usual eve ning service. Court'* School Ruling To Have No Effect Here The recent decision of the V. S. Supreme Court, barring religious teaching in the public schools, will have no effect in Maoon County, in the opinion of Guy L. Houk, oonnty superintendent. Maoon County schools bold chapel services, at which th? BIMe Is read, Mr. Houk said, but he added that he does not believe the oourt's decision applies to such services. There Is no sectarian re ligious teaching in the schools of this county, the superintendent oontintied, explaining that that Is what he understands the court has held is in conflict with the constitutional separa tion of church and state in this country.
