Lumber Yard 1948 Trout Fishing Schedule Given For Nantahala Area The 1948 trout fishing sche- ; dule for the North Carolina and United States Cooperative Wild life Management areas in the Nantahala national forest was released last week by Paul Rus sell, assistant forest supervisor. In releasing the new schedule, Mr. Russell pointed out that the main change from last year's program was that Cliffside Lake would be open for fishing every day through the months of June, July ?nd August.. The hours for Monday through Fri day will be 9 a. m. to 7 p. m. and 6 a ni. to 7 p. m. on Sat urdays, and holidays. The for est service officials said that the lake would be restocked at var ious times during the summer according to how fast the fish were taken out by anglers. He added that according to reports the upper reaches of Fires creek in Clay county was particularly well stocked this year with a carry over from last year and that the real sports man would find the fishing more to his liking there, he be lieved, than in the other areas. The season's schedule is as follows: | Cliffside Lake: May 15-16, 22 1 23, 29-30-31; June every day; July, every day; August, every day.
