SHERRILL WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA Democratic Candidate FOR N. C. Commissioner of Labor WHO BELIEVES that out-of-state union bosses should not in terfere in the North Carolina Democratic Pri mary, and that a state official should not be under obligation to these arrogant men. I stand for impartial, courteous, and efficient service to the people of N. C. DONALD BOONE SHERRILL. MY POSITION ON SCHOOL ISSUES DK1XG a member of the County Board of Education is a job that no one wants for a financial reason, as I under stand there is almost no pay in the position. I filed my name as a candidate for the Democratic nomi nation for the reason that 1 am very much interested in the schools of this county, and believe there are a .threat many improvements that should be made in our schorls. My inter est is both as a citizen and as the father of a child attend ing one of the Macon County schools. 1 live in Highlands and do not know a great many of the voters in other townships, and they do not know me or the , things I stand for, and therefore I believe it my duty to state the position 1 will take upon several vital 'matters in our educational system, if elected. 1. I am in favor of the state's supplementing county func'. for school buildings in the weaker counties, and I will de\ )t3 my best -sfCcrts to obtaining for this county's schools all the state funds to which we are entitled. 2. I will vote tc make the office of county superintendent of schools a full-time position. 3. I will vote to require the superintendent to visit all the schools in the county at frequent intervals. 4. I will v:3t? to held frequent and regular meetings of the C :unty Board, of Education, and will try to see that any per son who wishes to appear before the board !has a courteous, full, and fair hearing.
