Johnson-Chamber lain. son ol Mr and Mrs. Clin ton G Johnson, in a ceremony performed ai the home ol the uride's parents Saturday after noon at 4:30 o'clock. The wed ding took place under a clump ot piues on the lawn, ' witn only members ol the immediate lannlies and a lew close friends present. Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. H,. W. Cabe, pianist, presented a program ol nuptial music. She piuyea "1 Love Thee", by Grieg, ? To A Wild Rose", by Mac Uoweli, and O Perfect Love", by barnoy The traditional wedding marches were used. Unschedul ed music was piovicled oy a mocking bird in me top oi a pine, wmch sang througnout the ceremony, becoming sueiu as the minister spoke the first words 01 the prayer. The Rev. J H. Brendall, Jr., the bride's pastor, officatcd. The bride, who was given in marriage by her lather, was attired in a. gown of white organdy, made with bouftant sKnt and trimmed with bands ol Alencon lace. Her headdress was of white net, and she car ried a nosegay of pale pink sweet peas and white roses. Miss Lillian Jones was her sister s only attendant. Her dress was of blue embroidered organ dy, made with basque waist, very lull skirt, and worn over blue taffeta. Her tlowers were pastel summer blossoms. Langdon Johnson was his brotner s best man. A reception was held imme diately . alter the ceremony at the home of .the bride's parents. The guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Jones and G. Lyle Jones, of Asheville. In the receiving line were tne briue s parents, the bridal party and the groom's parents. The guests were invited by Mrs. Weimar Jones into the dining room, where the bridal table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a three tiered wedding cake, with silver candelabra on each side. Mrs. Ci. Lyle Jones and Mrs. Wheel ock Chamberlain cut and serv ed the wedding cake, Also as sisting in the dining room were Miss Anne Ray, Miss Katherine Long, Mrs. Bob Sloan, and Mrs. Browning Goldsmith. Mrs. Allen Siler invited the guests to see the wedding gifts, and Mrs. Emory Hunnicutt was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Andrew Jones and Mrs. Frank Farnham presided over the punch bowl on the lawn, and Miss Laura M. Jones and Weimar Jones bade the guests goodbye. Mrs. Jones, the bride's moth er, wore an aqua figured chiffon afternoon dress. Her flowers were pink roses. Mrs. Johnson, mother of the bridegroom, wore a beige crepe afternoon dress. Her flowers al so were pink roses. The bride is a graduate of the Franklin High school and Peace Junior college, in Raleigh. The groom attended Oregon State college, at Corvallls, Ore , and 'is now a student at Georgia Tech. where he will receive his degree this summer. JOHNSONS ENTERTAIN FOR WEDDING PART V Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Johnson entertained at a dinner party last Friday evening at their home on Main street in honor of their son, Clinton Johnson Chamberlain, and his fiancee, Miss Dorothy Jones, The dinner followed the wedding rehearsal. Guests included the bridal J party, out of town guests here [lor the wedding, the immediate families of the bride and bride I groom, and the Rev. J. H. Bren dan, Jr. MISS JONES, FIANCE GIVEN WEDDING BREAKFAST Mrs. R. S. Jones and Mrs. Weimar Jones entertained at the lijme of the former with a wedding breakfast last Satur day, honoring Miss Dorothy Jones and her fiance, Clinton G. Johnson-Chamberlain, whose wedding took place at 4:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Members of the immediate families were guests. TOCCOA GIRL BECOMES BRIDE OF JOHN A. BRYSON Miss Floice Powell, only daughter of Mrs. Claude Powell, of Toccoa, Ga., and of the late | Mr. Powell, became the bride of John A. Bryson, son of Mr. J and Mrs. W. M. Bryson, of Cul- | lasaja, in a simple ceremony at the Pentecostal Holiness church, Toccoa, June 4 at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. N. F. Perry officiated in the presence of a few rela tives and close friends. The bride was attired in a powder blue suit with white I accessories. Her corsage was oi j pink rosebuds. The bride attended school at the Toccoa Falls institute and formerly was employed by the North Georgia Processing com pany. Mr. Bryson is a graduate of the Franklin High school. He served in the armed forces for three years, and is now engag ! ed in the lumber business at | Cullasaja. Immediately following the ceremony, the couple left on a | short wedding trip through I Western North Carolina. They will make their home at Culla ! saja.
