C., daughter of Clinton Burrell, of Franklin, and Mrs. Dexter Burrell, of Clayton, Ga , was married August 13 to Chief Pettjr Officer Frederick Salain, of Aliquippa, Pa The ceremony was performed at 8 o'clock in the evening at the Glebe Baptist cfiurch, in Arlington, Va The bride was attired, in a grey crepe dress with grey ac cessories and wore a corsage of pink roses, lhe bride is a grad uate of Rabun Gap Nacoochee school at Rabun Gap, Ga., and of Athens Business college. For the past year she has held a position in the Navy department in Washington. The young couple will reside in Norlolk. Va., until the groom leaves on sea duty. FAREWELL PARTY IS GIVEN FREDA SILER Miss Freda Siier, who wui be a student this year at St. Gs nfcnevieve of the Pines academy in Asheville, was honored at a farewell party given by a group ol young friends at the home of Miss Julia Hunnicutt Monday evening. Square dancing was en jcyed during the evening. The hoi.oree was presented a gift by 1 the. guests. Thirty attended the ( party. MRS. William Penny o ii- J ciated. A program cf organ music was presented by Mrs. Duke Whitley. The bride is a graduate of Asheville college and of* Wom an's college of the University of North Carolina. For the past four years she has been teach ing vocational home economics at Hiwassee Dam, where she will continue to teach.
