Mrs. J. Q. Wallace led the de votional and the birthday pro fram, "Committed Afresh", wa.s " under the leadership of Mrs. J. 4 A. Flanagan. Observing the 27th mnlversary of Presbyterians Women's work, the program fea tured discussion of special pro jects of mission work among women for which the birthday offering will be used. Following the prog rc.ni, a so :lal hour was enjoyed. The tea table was laid with a lace c'oth and centered with an arrange ment of spring flowers and lighted tapers, carrying out a ?lor scheme of yellow and ?reen. Mrs. Claud Bolton, presi dent of the Women of the Shurch, served the birthday :ake, and Mrs. B. L. McGlam, mery, chairman of the Business' Women's circle, presided at the punch bowl. GARDEN CLUB BOARDS PLAN FOR COMING YEAR'S WORK The executive board of the recently reorganized Franklin Garden club met Monday at the home of Mrs. Al'a.n Brcoks to I scuss the personnel of club committees and to plan the work for the coming year. The next meeting of the club was announced for June 6. Personal Mention Linda Kay Smith, young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pritchard Smith, Jr., under went an operation at the Angel clinic Monday. Mrs. Altte Moore, of Cullasaja, is a patient at Angel clinic, where she underwent an opera tion Monday. Miss Frances Hodgins, of Prentiss, is recovering from an operation at Angel clinic. Miss Mattie Berry, of Frank lin, is undergoing treatment at Angel clinic. Mrs. H. O. Cozad has returned home from Elberton, Ga., where she visited her daughter, Mrs. John Wall. Mrs. J. H. Fouts is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dover Fouts and fsunily at Burnsville. Troy Shields, of Bristol, Tenn., spent last week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shields at their home in the Iotla Bridge community. Mrs. T. B.
