Fisher and Mrs. James McCollum entertained at a bridge party at the home of Mrs. E. B. McCcllum, on Palmer street, Friday evening. Six tables were 4n play. Prizes were awarded to Miss Ruth Angel, high score; Miss Fannie Mae Sherrill, second high; Mrs. J. E. Perry, Jr., low score; and Mrs. J. L. West, Jr., Bingo. Those playing were Mrs. Frank B. FOREST SERVICE BRIDGE CLUB HAS DINNER PARTY The Forest Service Bridge club entertained with a dinner party Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Wasilik, Jr. Following dinner, dancing was enjoyed at the home of Mrs. Eliis Soper. Guests included Mr. and Mrs, E. W. Renshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Russell. Mr. and Mrs. Wi' liam Nothstein, Mr. and Mrs. Emory Hunnicutt, Mrs. Soper, Mr. and Mrs. Roane Bradley, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oray, and Mr. and Mrs. Wasillk. J. A. VINSONS MARK 41ST ANNIVERSARY The 41st wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Vinson was celebrated at a family sup per at the home of their son, Daniel S. Vinson, on the Dillard Franklin road, November 15. Mr. and Mrs. Vinson were present ed gifts by their children, and group singing was enjoyed in the evening. Present, in addition to the honorees, were Mr. and Mrs. Marvin St. Clair and son, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Vinson and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carpenter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Vinson, and Miss Jessie Vineon. Three of the Vinsons' children ? Rcwe, of Canton, Ohio, At'as, of Atlanta, and Philip, of Eus tis, Fla.? were unable to be present. Miss Ann Flanagan, who is a teacher at Barnwell, S. C., is home for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. George Deweese, of F^ats, visited their daughter, Mrs. Everette White, Saturday. Homer Younce, of Franklin, Route 3, has gone to Florida on a hunting trip. Out-of-town persons here for | the funeral of Mrs. Jural Smith Monday included Mr. and Mrs. John W. Ledford and Miss Kate Roland, all of Greensboro, Mrs. Polk Allman and sons, of Web ster, and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Hall, of Lowell, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Ledford and Miss Roland remained for a brief visit with their parents, Mr and Mrs. Will Roland, of Franklin, Route 3. Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Page have gone to Boston, Mass., for the Christmas holidays. They will be joined there by their daugh ter, Miss Mary Frances Page, who is atte'nding the University i weekend with Mrs. fiuttbn'i mother, Mil. HaMey Lyle, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Perry have arrived home from Chapel Hill for the holidays. John rfanagan is home from Presbyterian college at Maxim for Christmas. Miss Lassie Kelly plans to leave Sunday for a foiuiiehia vacation in Cuba. Mrs. Gilmer A. Jones has re turned home, fo'lowing a visit to her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Chamber lain, and the Chamberlains' young son, Langdon And.ew, in Atlanta. Manuel Holland, student at Brevard college, has arrived to spend the holidays in Franklin. George Moorehead, of Tampa, Fla., is here on business. Mrs. W. W. Sloan and son W. W. (Bill ) Sloan, will leave this morning to spend Christmas in Raleigh with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sloan and Mr. and Mrs. Hall Swain. Clell Bryant Completes 4-Year Work At U. N. C Cle'l Bryant, having complet ed his work for graduation from the University of North Caro lina at Chapel Hill, has return ed to his home here.
