JONES PRESENTS HER PUPILS IN RECITAL Mrs. Richard Jones presented her speech and dramatics pu pils in recital at the Slagle Me morial building last Friday eve ning. About 50 parents and friends were present. Mrs. Roy Blddle was pianist for the musical readings and the dances. Two cne-act plays and the following readings were pre sented: "The Old and the New", by Nancy Siler and Brenda Cun ningham; "The Riddle", Anna Pattillo; "Santa's Son1', Douglas , Pearson; "Troubles", Susis Cun ningham; "Santa's Preference", Martha Angel; "A Gift for San ta", Linda Shope. Members cf the cast for the second play, "The Fir Tree", were: Douglas Pearson, Jane Zlclcgraf. Tessier was one o I 13 North Carolinians gradu ated from the Air Tactical school at Tyndnll Air Fcrce Base, Panama City, Fla., De cember 16, according to an an nouncement received here. Maj. Tessier is the son of Mrs. Reby S. Tessier, of Frank lin. For the past 16 weeks, these officers have taken an inten sive course in subjects of spe cial importance to Air Force officers in responsible positions. No bid of less than $18.00 per M ft. for white oak, $12.50 per M ft. fcr north ern red oak, $6.50 per M ft. for chestnut oak and $3.50 per M ft. for scarlet .oak and b'ack oak will be considered. FARM CENSUS NOTE Each farm owner shall prepare a list of the acreage of each crop grown, including tenths cf acres of truck. The list should show the total acres cultivated by the owner, . also t .ie acres cultivated by all tenants on each separately recognized farm, the acres fc? improved pasture, woodland, idle and other lands. He shall be prepared to report the number of hogs sold or slaughtered during past 12 months and tons of fertilizer to be used during this crop year.
