If you want to visit in a ro

Bavaria. All year 'round, Its
towns and mountain villages,
with thei- steeples, castles,
steep-roofed houses and moun

series of woodcuts come to life
But especially In winter is Ba
varia attractive, for then the
deep snows that blanket the
towns and majestic Alpine
peaks turn It into a Christmas
card fairyland.
Magnificent scenery, fine
music, animated cafe life and
warm hospitality are to be
found a'l along the Bavarian
Alps, from Lake Constance via
Kempton, Toelz, Oberammergau
the Passion Play village (2,76f
feet high), Oarmisch-Parten

to Berchtesgaden.
Munich, Bavaria's capital and
the traditional German cente
of art, is more lively than evei
in winter, for it is the gat ;wa>

the German- Austrian irontier

Dozens of other winter sports
