ior division, for children 11 to

Ribbon winning exhibits in
the junior division were dish
gardens, miniature and artistic
arrangements, grasses and wild
flowers, and posters and bird
houses. These exhibits were
done at the museum by the
children themselves, and were
one of the most interesting sec
tions of the entire show.

Stockton said. The association
is the largest church group in
the county.
Officers of the association, in
addition to Mr. Stockton and

assistant clerk; and the Rev. W.
N. Cook, historian.

man commission were sworn in
by Mayor Robert M. Dillard. The
fifth member, A. R. Higdon, was
unable to be present. Other
members are H. H. Plemmons
and Roy Carpenter.
The first Friday in each
month was set as the commis
sion's regular meeting date and
the public was invited to attend
all sessions. Meetings will be
held in the mayor's office in
the Bank of Franklin building.
After a tentative zoning plan
has been formulated, the com
mission said public hearings
would be held to give local citi
zens an opportunity to express
approval or disapproval of the
plan.
Attending the meeting in an
advisory capacity was Ted Reb
er, local realtor. Mr. Reber, who
was chairman of the zoning
commission of Miami, Fla., be
fore coming to Franklin, em
phasized the importance of a
zoning plan here, pointed out
some problems the J/Iiami com
mission was faced with, and of
fered a number of suggestions.
