Barnard and two sons, of Corpus Christi, Texas, are visiting their fam ilies here. Charles Carmichall has re turned to his hone in Greens boro after visiting his daughter, Mrs. T. W. Angel, Jr., for six weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Greenwood and two children, of Atlanta, Ga., were guests of Mr. Green wood's aunt, Miss Lassie Kelly, last week. Miss Gayle Abercrombie, ol Lufkin, Texas, formerly of Franklin, is the guest of Miss Jeana Sue Cunningham. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. McKelvey and sons are vacationing at Tybee Beach and Charleston, S. C. Mrs. Elsie Franks has return ed home from Bethesda, Md., where she spent the summer with her daughter, Mrs. Jack Lever. She was accompanied home by Mrs. Lever and two children who will visit her for several weeks. Mrs. Donald Jones, of Nor folk, Va., formerly of Franklin, is spending several months here and is living in the apartment recently vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Newell Lakey. Alan Cartledge, of Weaver ville, is visiting his grandmoth er, Mrs. Lee Barnard, Sr. Mrs. Gordon Moore and Mrs. S. R. Barnard, of Corpus Chris ti, Texas, spent the week-end in Winston-Salem. Miss Lucy Slagle, of Atlanta, Ga., spent the week-end at her home on Cartoogechaye. Mrs. I. B. Miss Amanda Slagle has re turned to her home on Car toogechaye after attending sum mer school at Peabody college, Nashvilel, Tenn. Miss Emma Lu Higdon, of Asheville, is visiting friends and relatives here. Mrs. E. S. Hunnlcutt left Thursday by plane for Albu querque, N. Mex., where she will visit her daughter, Mrs. Marion Pearce for a month. She will then go to Ogden, Utah, to spend the winter with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hunnicutt.
