C. 13 Men Attend Presbyterian Supper Meeting Thirteen men of the Presby terian church were present at the Friday night supper meet ing in the dining room of the church. Plans were made at the meeting for a general clean-up of the church grounds and the grounds at the manse. The men attending the sup per included Louis A. Edwards, supper club president, Sidney McCarty, John H. C. Perry, Hen ry Wright, M. S. (Bud) Thomp son, Henry Cleaveland, J. Har vey Trice, Frank B. Cook, Sid Carter, M. A. Nelson, Charles J. Anderson, C. E. Mitchell, and Tommy Hunt. Mrs. C. E. Mitchell was sup per chairman and arranged the table decorations of hyacinths and narcissus. Assisting Mrs. Mitchell with the supper were Mrs. Sidney Carter, Mrs. Tom my Hunt, Mrs. Charles J. And erson, Miss Kathryn Baker and Miss Dorothea Harbison. Valentine Fete Nets $100 For Seniors' Washington Trip The Valentine carnival staged by the junior and senior classes at ' Highlands High school last Thursday night netted approxi mately one hundred dollars. The money will be added to the senior class fund for their spring trip to Washington, D. C. Cake walks, Bingo, and a re freshment booth were the main features of the carnival. Thirty cakes, decorated in keeping with the Valentine sea son, were given for the occa sion, and the business houses contributed more than twenty Bingo prizes. C., were week-end guests of Mrs. Chalker's par ents, Mayor and Mrs. Wilton H. Cobb, at their home on Satulah road. Mr. and Mrs. Burwell Thorn ton have returned to their home in Horse Cove after a several days' stay in Atlanta. While they were away, Miss Marion Thornton was the guest of Miss Mary Lou McCarty. Mrs. C- Townsend Scanlan drove over from Asheville far a week-end visit with Mr. and Mrs. Prank B. Cook at their Highlands inn apartment. Mr. and Mrs. J. Harvey Trice have returned to Thomasville, Ga., after spending two weeks here looking after some build ing being done at their new place in Cashiers.
