Mrs. Millie Carpenter Dies; Rites Held Monday Mrs. Millie Lavada Carpenter, ol Franklin, Route 4, died Sat urday In a Franklin hospital, following a long Illness. Born August 25, 1878, Mrs. Carpenter was the daughter of Charlie and Mrs. Rebecca Long Thomas, of Smiths Bridge town ship. In 1909 she was married to Ben H. Carpenter, who died last year. Surviving are three sons, Romulus, of Franklin, Hubert, of Bluefield, Va., and Morris, of Ashevllle; one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence McCall, of Dillard, Ga., Route 1; three sisters, Mrs. Mack Hunt, of Townsend, S. C., Mrs. Ella Gray, of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Mrs. Beulah Ad dington, of Toccoa, Ga.; and a brother, T. T. Thomas, of Pied mont, S. C.; and 17 grandchil dren and nine great-grandchil dren. * Pallbearers were Glenn New ton, James, Hoke, and Hardy Addington, and Leslie and Frank McCall. Arrangements were under the direction of Bryant Funeral home. On Wildlife Management day, March 21, a group of Franklin Future Farmers of America dropped out to the trout rearing pools at Arrowood glade to give a hand with restocking Wayah creek with some 300 rainbows, all eight inchers. In the protograph. Reed Queen, in charge of the pools, nets a mess of trout in preparation for weighing. The F. F. A. boys stand by with buckets to transfer the fish to a nearby truck.
