Macon Native Succumbs
After Short Illness In
Local Hospital
James Newton Rogers, a Ma
:on County native, died June 10
in a local hospital after a short
illness. He was 78 years old.
Funeral services were con
lucted the following afternoon
it 2:30 o'clock at the Ellijay
Baptist church by the Rev.
Frank Reed. Burial was in the
:hurch cemetery.
A farmer, Mr. Rogers was
born April 9, 1874, the son of
Dave and Mrs. Angeline Mincey
Rogers, of the Ellijay commun
ity.
He was a member of the Pine
Grove Baptist church and was
married in 1901 to Miss Millie
Peek, who died in 1932. For the
past several years he had been
living with his son, Fred Rog
ers, in the Cullasaja commun
ity.
Surviving are his son and
two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Fred Mincey,
TeH Higdon, Roy Stiwint'er,
Theodore Rogers, Ilriscoe Dills,
and Canton Henry.

McFalls, of Franklin, Route 3,
in the U. S. Air Force has been
announced by Sgt. Clay Hensley,
local army-air force recruiter.
The enlistee is the son of C E.
McFalls and member of the
1952 graduating class of Frank
lin High school.
