N6 ? tfc Patton Move* Hm Macon Furniture Store To New Site Macon Furniture company, owned by Lawrence Patton, a business which had been situ ated in the Angel building, next door to the post office, for 20 years, moved October 31 to the Nantahala building, back of the courthouse. Originally operated by the late Jeter Snyder, it was bought from Mrs. Snyder by Lawrence Patton and Dan Bryson, and about 11 years ago Mr. Patton bought Mr. Bryson's Interest. When Lawrence Patton re turned from service, he bought into the business with his brother in 1946, and about two years later Lawrence Patton be came sole owner, when his brother, Thad. established the Thad-Hope Furniture exchange, on Palmer street. N6? ltc CATWAY DIES: | WAS VETERAN WORLD WAR 1 Rites For North Dakota Native Conducted On Saturday Victor S. Catway, a native of North Dakota and resident of this county since 1925, died at his home in Franklin last Thursday after an Illness of several years. A veteran of World War 1, he was a native of Red River Val - ley, N. Dak., and was married on April 9. 1925, to Miss Mae Henson, of the Coweeta sec tion. He was 72 years old. Funeral services for Mr. Cat way were conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at the Coweeta Baptist church by the Rev. Lee Crawford. Military rites were held by members of the local American Legion post. Burial was In the church ceme tery. A member of the Presbyterian church, he enlisted In the army on April 10, 1918, at the age of 38. Surviving are his wife; one son, Victor Rogers Catway, of Sedro Woolley, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Rasmus sen, of Montana, Mrs. Minnie Wllkerson, of Utah, and Mrs. Rose Baw, of Canada; and one grandchild. Lenoir Aboard Ship Operating In Korea Waters Radioman First Class James B. Lenoir, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben B. Lenoir, of Franklin. Route 1, is serving aboard the salvage ship, USS Grapple, off the Korean coast, the Fleet Home News Service has an nounced. The Grapple, playing the role of "Mother Hubbard" to ships engaged in the Korean battle zones, performs emergency re pairs and houses every kind of salvage gear necessary for the most difficult tasks, the an nouncement said. Mozeley, Former Macon Resident, Succumbs At His Home In Charlotte Paul Mozeley, a former Ma con County resident, died Oc tober 27 at his home in Char lotte at the age of 71, it has i been learned here, i Mr. Mozeley, the son of Henry Terrell and Mrs. Callie Dillard Mozeley, is survived by a number of nieces and nephews here. He moved from Franklin to Geor gia in the early 20's and had been Jiving in Charlotte since about 1926. Funeral services were con ducted October 28 at the Chad wick Mr.hodist church in Char lotte.
