committee in this community
has started.
The minutes of the last meet
ing were read by Mrs. Ted
Blaine, who reported that the
treasury has $131.91
The recreation committee Is
making plans for a picnic on
Fathers' Day at Wayah Gap.
At the close of the meeting,
refreshments were served by
Mrs. Homer Cochran, Mrs. Wal
ter Swanson, and Mrs. R. D.
Wells.
Approximately 70 persons at
tended the meeting.

An Assemblies of God camp
meeting is scheduled to be held
at Cullasaja July 5 through
July 19, according tc the Rey.
Fred Sorrells, camp manager.
The daily schedule will In
clude a prayer hour at 9 a. m.;
Bible study by the Rev. Paul
Davidson, 10 a. m.; children's
service, 10 a. m.; talks by vis
iting ministers, 2 :3C p. m.;
young people's service, 6:30 p.
m.; evangelistic service by the
Rev. Mark Buntain, 7:30 p. m.
Special songs and music are
planned at each service.
The camp is located five
miles from Franklin on US 64
(Highlands road).
MRS. THOMPSON
DIES THURSDAY
Services For Jackson
County Native Held
On Saturday
Mrs. Sallie Angel Thompson,
a native ol Jackson County,
died last Thursday night at the
home of her son, Jim Thomp
son, in the Watauga section.
Eighty-six year old, Mrs.
Thompson has been in declin
ing health for some time.
Funeral services were con
ducted Saturday at 11 a. m. at
the Rldgecrest Baptist Church
by the Rev. J. D. Pyatt, the
Rev. Lee Crawford, and the
Rev. Bill Shields. Burial was in
the Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Born July 16, 1866, Mrs.
Thompson was the daughter of
W L. and Narcissa Bryson
Angel, She was a member
of the Bethel Methodist Church
and lived in this county since
her marriage in 1896 to W. S.
Thompson, who died several
years ago.
She is survived by five sons.
Mack, of Franklin, Jess, Lon,
Tom, and Jim, of Franklin,
Route 4; 16 grandchildren, and ?
19-g.reat-grandcnilcren.
