WILEY BROWN (Community Reporter) The Clarks Chapel Rural Community Development Or ganization held Its December meeting Tuesday of last week. Plans were completed for the exhibit In the Christmas deco rations contest sponsored by the Nantahala Power and Light Company. Plans also were made for a Christmas tree at the church and a program will be given December 24 by the MYE of the church. All members of the Sunday School drew names and will exchange gifts. A commit tee met Sunday, December 20, and made plans for a Christ mas treat for the children of the community. The treat will consist of about 125 bags of fruits, nuts, and candies. Members of the Wells Grove Baptist Church, which is also in the darks Chapel Commun ity, have decorated their church and erected an attractive out door scene. They also are plan ning a Christmas tree and pro gram and plan to exchange gifts ? give a treat to all their children. December 24 by the MYF of the Clarks Chapel church served a chicken dinner to the Fethodist Men for a profit of $50. The money will be used for improve ments in the basement of the church. CADETS ARE HOME Two Franklin cadets at Riv erside Military Academy, Gain esville, Ga., are home for the Christmas holidays. Cadet Nel son E. Dowdle, son of W. W. Dowdle, and Cadet Eric W. Hearn, son of Colonel and Mrs. W. W. Hearn, arrived this week. The two will return January 4 to the academy's winter home In Hollywood, Fla.
