Highlands Highlights Miss Potts Becomes Bride Of \Y. K. Houston Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Potts, ot Highlands, have announced the marriage of their daughter, Miss Emily Lucille Potts, to Walter Eugene Houston, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Houston, of Highlands. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. William Walker Lancaster, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Walhalla, S. C., June 11, at the Baptist par sonage in Walhalla. The bride wore a dress of light blue nylon with white ac cessories. Her corsage was of red carnations. Louis Potts, brother of the bride, served as best man. The couple was accompanied to Walhalla by Mrs. Potts, mother of the bride, Doris and Linda Potts, sisters of the bride, Mrs. Betty Shockley and small son, Eddie, sister and nephew of the bride, Mrs. Louis Potts, Mrs. Thomas Potts, aunt of the bride, and Edward J. Baty. Following the ceremony a small reception for relatives and close friends was held at the home of the bride's parents. The couple will make their home in Highlands. Miss Anderson W eds Lieut. Shearouse Miss Mary Deas Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Anderson, of Highlands, and Lt. Frank Reid Shearouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd N. Shear ouse, of Highlands, were mar ried the evening of June 12 at the First Presbyterian Church in Highlands. The Rev. Robert M. Hart, pastor of the church, performed the double ring cere mony. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. Louis Edwards and Miss Mary Ross Anderson, of Sanford, Fla., so loists. The Rev. J. B. Davidson, of Pendleton, S. C., sang the Lord's Prayer, with Mrs. David son at the organ. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Chantilly lace and duchess satin, with high neck and pointed sleeves. Her only ornament was a topaz and pearl brooch which belonged to her maternal grandmother. Her fingertip veil of bridal illusion was caught to a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible, topped with a white or chid. Miss Jane Anderson, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a dress of crystal blue taffeta and nylon - tulle and carried a bouquet of roses and pink carnations. Bridesmaids were Mrs. J. E. Hardin, of Clyde. Mrs. E. E. Sellers, of HendersonVille, sis ters of the bride. Miss Peggy Potts, cousin of the bride, Miss Mary B as comb Cook, and Miss Mary Summer. They wore ice j blue dresses fashioned like that of the honor attendant; and they carried nosegays of pink carnations. Betty Holt was flower girl, i and Chuck Sellers, of Hender- 1 sonville, nephew of the bride, 1 was ring bearer. Mr. Shearouse was his son's best man. Ushers were James E. Martin and John T. Martin, Jr, at Laurens, S. C., J. 8. Anil, of Greenwood, a C., and J. H. Ohseik, Jr., of Savannah. CNL Following the ceremony, a re ception was held at the horn* of the bride. The couple left for a wed ding trip, after which they will reside at Sumter, S. C., where Lt. Shearouse will be stationed at Shaw Air Force Base. The bride is a graduate of Highlands High School and Is a senior at Ersklne College, Due West, S. C. The groom is a graduate of Newberry College, Newberry, S. C.
