Hope To Let School Bids In July The architect is at work oil plan* for Macon County's school building program, and hopes to complete them In time for local authorities to ask for bids by the latter part of July. That was the word brought beck by County Supt. Holland McSwain, after conferring with the Ashevllle architect, Lindsey M. Oudger, in Ashevllle. Mr. McSwain emphasized, however, that every detail in the plans must be checked with the state division of school house planning, and that de lays may occur. He added that the amount of the bids will de termine whether all the work can be done now. The program for meeting this county's "immediate needs" was given approval by the State Board of Education a fortnight ago. The program calls for a gym nasium at Franklin; lunchrooms at Cowee and Otto; and seven classrooms at Franklin, four at East Franklin, two at Cowee, one at Cartoogechaye, two at Nantahala, and two at High lands. It is hoped to do all this work out of this county's share of the first $25,000,000 of state school bonds authorized last year, plus the $105,000 Insurance on the Franklin building that burned recently. In the event the funds are insufficient, first priority will be given the classrooms, Mr. McSwain said. , PERSONALS Mrs. Don Baldwin and son, Charles, spent last week-end in Charlotte, visiting her sister, Mrs. Johnny Hedrlck, and Mr. Hedrick.
