Mrs. Jasper L. Norton and daughter, of Palestine, Tex., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ed L. Nor ton, of Otto. The Rev. and Mrs. Carl Kes sel and son, Charles, and daugh ter, were guests this week of Mrs. Kessel's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Wilson. Mr. Kessel has returned to Jefferson, Ga? to make plans to enter Colum bia Seminary for his second year. Mrs. M. O. Welling and two children, Mary {Catherine and Grist, of Silver Springs, Md., are here visiting their grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Cun ningham, and other relatives. Mrs. Jerry Schulthels and small daughter, of Winter Hav en, Fla., are here visiting her father, Blmer Roten, and fam ily. Mrs. Hershel Keener and Mrs. Ralph Penland spent several days in Charlotte last week. Mi*, and Mis. Donald McLean and four children, of Asheville, visited Mrs. McLean's father, the Rev. A. Rufus Morgan, here for several days last week. Mitchell Ashear and son, Mitchell, Jr., left Monday for their home In Pittsburgh, Pa., after a visit here with Mr. Ashear's brother, Joe Ashear, and Mrs. Ashear. Mr. Ashear accompanied them to Pitts burgh for a visit there. Mr. and Mrs. H. Fay and two children, of Cincinnati, Ohio, were guests last week of their uncle, W. M. Katenbrink, apd Mrs. Katenbrink. Mr. and Mrs. James O. Mc Collum and son, Jimmy, have returned after a week's visit with Mrs. McColl urn's father, A. E. Mlddleton, in Eufaula, Ala. Jack P. Norton has returned to his home on Franklin, Route 2, after a week's business tour of Asheville, Mars Hill, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Brown, of the Mur phy road, left this week to spend some time with her son and family In Ashevllle. Mrs. Charles Hendrlx, of Gainesville, Fla., and Mrs. Gor don W. Reap and son, Jimmy, of Tampa, Fla., arrived Tues day for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Lyle at Trimont Inn. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Revelra, of Tampa, Fla., are guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Norton at their home on the Georgia road. Miss Marjorie Moody return ed yesterday (Wednesday) from Columbia, S. C., where she vis ited Miss Sandra Newton. While away. They were accompanied to Michigan by Mrs. Wade Chllders and son, Hampy, where they will Join Mr. Chllders In Pontiac. BETHEL STILL SEEKING SUE FOR PROJECT By MRS. JTJklTA PECK (Community Reporter) The Bethel Rural Community Development Organization is still trying to find a location for a recreational site, but it seems unable to "beg, borrow, or steal" a suitable spot in the community. But we are still hopeful. At its regular meeting last Thursday night, several reports of home improvements were made, including: Mrs. W. A. Connell has a new oak floor; Boise Hall had his house under pinned and painted Inside; Mrs. W. N. McDonald had the same done to hers; Ernest Hyde has new steps to his front porch; Mrs. Myrtle Keener had her porches painted; Mrs. Betty Ann Stewman built a new home some time ago, but it was re ported; Mrs. Joan Richardson added a bathroom to her home; and George Mallonee has open ed a trailer park on his prop erty.
