Leatherman Clan Slates Reunion The Leatherman family plans its annual reunion Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dock Leatherman, in the Liberty Community. Air Force, who recently re turned from a year's service in Korea, Is spending a 30-day leave here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Canton Henry. At the end of his leave, Cpl. Henry will go to Armarillo, Tex., where he will be stationed. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henry had as guests last week their children Sgt. Wiley Henry and family, and Pvt. Bobbie Henry, both of Fort Bragg, Miss Betty Henry, and niece, Diana Henry, of Macon, Oa., and daughter in-law, Mrs. Walter Henry, of Asheville. Pvt. Earl Williams, Pvt. Roy Williams, Pvt. Roy Young, and Pvt. Adolph Conley, all of Fort Jackson, S. C., were here for Labor Day week-end visiting their parents. Sgt. Ben Moffitt, stationed near Youngstown, Ohio, ' is spending some time with his wife and children on Ellijay, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moffitt, of Franklin, Route 3. Mrs. Harrison Ammons is vis iting relatives in Asheville this week. Mr. and Mrs. Orval Franks and son, Tony, have moved back to this community, after living in Flint, Mich., for sev eral months. SLOAN'S CHAPEL EVENT The annual homecoming pro gram is planned Sunday at Sloan's Chapel In East Frank lin, it has been announced, be ginning at 10 a. m., with Sun day School. Special singing and speakers and dinner is planned on the grounds at 12:30. Andersons Plan Reunion Sunday ! At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Huscusson on the Georgia 1 Road, the Anderson family Sun day will hold it? 58th annual I reunion. A basket lunch will be served at noon and an informal pro gram is planned in the aiter i noon, it was said. Family and friends are invited. Cochran Is Officer Of 'Lumber Hicka' Weimer Cochran, of the Nan tahala Community, has been elected temporary chairman of the newly-organized "Lumber Hicks", an organization for men who have worked In timber. The "Lumber Hicks" plan a meeting in Andrews September 25 at the American Legion Hut to elect permanent officers. Mr. Cochran said all men who have logged or been engaged in the timber business are Invited to join. BROOKS IS TRANSFERRED Allan Brooks, Jr., formerly of Franklin, who is with the Alum inum Company of America, was transferred September 1, it has been learned here. Mr. Brooks, who has been in the Dallas, Tex., sales office of the com pany, now Is in the office at Oklahoma City, Okla. ATERS IS ENLISTEE James Anderson Ayers, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Ayers, of Dillard, Ga., Route 1, recently enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps and is now train ing at the Marine Corps Re cruit Depot at Parris Island, S.
