W. C. Newton has too much
water!
The Town of Highlands has
too little!
Mr. Newton, plagued by a
spring in his front yard, is
ditching in an effort to locate
I the head of the spring so he
can dry his yard. He's had no
luck yet.
The town could use mora
water and already has con
tracted to drill the new well on
NC 106 500 feet deeper. The
present depth of 250 feet isn't
sufficient to pay the town to
pump the water into the sys
tem.
