GARDEN TOUR SET FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Broken Into Two Groups; Includes Trip Up Whiteside Final arrangements have been made for the Highlands Garden Club's garden tour Friday and Saturday. The tour is to be broken into two groups. Tour A and Tour B. in order to give a more compre hensive view of estates and gar dens in the area. Both tours will leave Highlands Inn from 10 to 10:30 a. m. and 2:30 to 3 p. m. each day. A free trip up Whiteside Moun tain is included in the $2 admis sion. The club's annual flower show is scheduled later in the month. Athletic Group J Sponsors Talent Show Saturday The Highlands Athletic Associa tion sponsored the Claude Casey . tallent shov: at the Highlands , School auditorium on Saturday ( evening. Approximately 150 attended and the association netted $35 from the event. Gooding, was the speaker at a meeting of the High lands Home Demonstration Club Monday evening. He discussed the establishment of a health clinic in Highlands ! and the group voted to assist with | the project. The first clinic will be held on i Wednesday. August 17, from 2 to 4 p. m. The place for the clinic | will be announced later. ' A committee consisting of Mrs. Arthur Rogers, Mrs. Warren Wil son, and Mrs. John Miller, was | appointed to secure the place for the clinic. Ga.. was the guest ipeaker at the July 26 meeting of he Highlands Rotary Club. He spoke on his recent trip to Europe. Twenty-eight were at the meet ing, which had the largest num ?er of visitors for this season. Trowbridge Announces Bascom-Louise Purchase William J. Trowbridge, manager 3f King's Inn, has announced the purchase of the Bascom-Louise Hotel. The purchase price was not disclosed, but the new owners have acquired the property and began full operation for guests Monday. The new purchase, immediately adjacent to the present King's Inn property, will approximately double the accommodations for guests, according to Mr. Trow bridge. The Bascom-Louise Hotel under went extensive remodeling four years ago. and plans for addi tional remodeling and improve ments to the grounds will be an nounced in the fall, he said.
