Mrs. Banks Rogers, mother of the honorees, assisted in serving. MISS NELL SCRUGGS MARRIES J. A. GIBSON Miss Nell Scruggs, daughter of Charles Scruggs, of Waynesville, and the late Mis. Scruggs, became the bride of Joseph A. Gibson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Gibson, of Franklin, Route 4, Friday eve ning at 7 o'clock at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. George A. Cloer, grandparents of the groom. Mr. Cloer performed the double ring ceremony in the presence of the immediate families. The bride wore a light blue suit with white accessories. Her cor sage was of yellow carnations. She is a graduate of Waynesville High School. Mr. Gibson atended Franklin High School, and is now in the U. S. Air Force, stationed at Shaw Field, S. C. After a short wedding trip, the. couple will live in Sumter, S. C. MISS BARBARA CHILDERS MARRIES C. E. SIMMONS Miss Barbara Josephine Child ers. of Franklin and Winston Salem, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Childers, of Franklin, be came the bride of Charlie Eugene Simmons, of Lexington, son of Mrs. Earl Simmons, of Atlanta, Ga . and the late Mr. Simmons, Friday evening, July 29, in the Wesleyan Memorial Methodist Church, in Greenville, S. C. The ? double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. E. Early, pastor of the church. White gladioli and seven-branch ed candelabra were used at the church altar. Miss Ann Hudson, organist, of Greenville, presented a program of wedding music. The bride wore a ballerina length dress of white embroidered nylon over taffeta, fashioned with bolero Jacket. Her fingertip veil of nylon illusion fell from a ban deau of seed pearls. She carried a white prayer book topped with white rosebuds, tuberoses, and baby's breath. Miss Patricia Childers, sister of the bride, served as maid of hon or. She wore a ballerina-length dress of yellow nylon net over taf feta, and carried a bouquet of pink asters tied with pink satin ribbon. Lawrence Simmons, cousin of the groom, of Greenville, served as best man. Ushers were Parks Howie, of Charlotte, and Howard Eusry, of Winston-Salem. Mrs. Simmons is a graduate of Franklin High School and of Berea College, Berea, Ky? where she majored in dietetics. She in terned at the Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, and for the past two years has been dietician at the Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, where she is still employed. Mr. Simmons is a graduate of the Mount Pleasant High School, and attended the University of Georgia, Athens, after serving two years in the U. S. Navy with most of the time overseas. He is now employed as assistant manager of the Piedmont Furniture Company, in Lexington. Following the wedding cere mony, the couple left on a short trip through the South. For travel ing, the bride chose a pink faille suit with white accessories, and the corsage from her prayer book. Upon their return, they will live in Lexington. Personal Mention Mr. and Mrs. John E. Cutshall | moved into the Lee Woods' house on Palmer Street this week. Mrs. Joseph Higdon, Jr., and small son, and Miss Laura Lyle, have returned from a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Sutton in Washington, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Upright J and small daughter, Donna Car ol, ol Aiken, 8. C., spent the week-end here visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Upright is the former Miss Doris Phillips, of Franklin. Miss Mary Campbell and Miss Barbara Jenkins, both of Wash ington, D. C? have returned after spending two weeks here with Miss Campbell's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Campbell, and her sister, Mrs. Gene Oliver, Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Kinnebrew, of Winter Haven. Fla., arrived Saturday to spend some time at their cabin on the golf course. They have as guests Robert Gib bons, of Tampa, Fla., and Mrs. Mildred Kinsey, of Winter Haven. Mrs. E. R. Kinnebrew and son, Robert, Jr., of Memphis, Tenn., arrived Sunday for a vacation here. They have rented the old Munday house on Main Street. Mr. Kinnebrew and daughter, Nancy Sloan, expect to Join them shortly. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Norman and daughter, Babette, of Green wich, Conn., are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Phil McCollum. Richard Jones, Jr., arrived home last week, after attending sum mer school at Davidson College, Davidson. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. THE COOKING CORNER Favoritt Recipes Of MACON WOMEN LIME PIE INGREDIENTS: 1 package lime Jello, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup hot water, V2 teaspoon salt, 1 large ;an Pet milk, juice of 2 lemons, chilled. METHOD: Dissolve Jello in hot water, add sugar and salt, stir ring until dissolved. Let stand until cool. Chill Pet Milk and also chill large mixing bowl and rotary egg beater. Cover two 8-lnch pie dishes with crushed vanilla wafers, using whole wafers around the edges. Whip Pet Milk, add lem on juloe slowly, whip until cream to heavy. Whip Jello mixture until creamy and thick. Combine the two. Pour Into pie plates. Chill. Top with layers of whipped cream Just before serving. Makes 12 serv ings. This Is delicious frozen.
