Jones' Rites Conducted In Atlanta Funeral services for Frederick Franklin Jones, Franklin real estate and insurance man, who died August 15 of a heart at tack at his Wayah Valley home, were conducted the 17th at the St. Phillips Cathedral in At lanta, Ga. Dean Alfred Hardman and the Rev. A. Rufus Morgan, rector I of the St. Agnes Episcopal Church here, officiated. Burial was In the West View Ceme- I tery. Active in his church and community, Mr. Jones, 61, was ! a former traffic manager of | the Southern Freight Associa tion In Atlanta. He came here in April, 1953. He was a mem. ber of the St. Agnes church and the Franklin Lions Club. In his church, Mr. Jones served as treasurer and on the mis sions committee. He is survived by his wife, the i former Miss Evelyn Arnold, of Atlanta; a son, Frederick Franklin Jones, Jr., also of At lanta; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur O. French, of Newcastle, Pa., Mrs. Emory M. Downs, and Mrs. Robert Lee Pullen, both of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. Frank Andrew, of Athens, Ga.; and seven grandchildren. ?SLUMBER PARTY' HELD A "slumber party" was held by the Hlgdonville 4-H girls Saturday night at the home of Mrs. Sidney Clay, 4-H leader. Tellico Group Meets; Wilhide Is Entertainer By CARL MORGAN (Community Reporter) The Tellico Rural Commun ity Development Organization held its August meeting at the Sulphur Springs picnic area with Mrs. Faye Cowan, presi dent, presiding. Norma Jean Childers gave the devotional. , Committee reports were given and approved. It was reported that $21 had been raised and paid for the grading of the parking area at the church. H. A. Wilhide and his dancing dolls, "Dan and Dinah", enter tained. The next meeting will be held at the picnic area September 16. Semi-Annual Sing Set September 4 At Tellico Church The semi-annual sing of the northern division of the Ma. con County Singing Convention will be held at the Tellico Bap tist Church Sunday, September 4, beginning at 10 a. m.
