'Annual Farmers Federation Stockholders'
Meeting Slated For Macon On March 9
I The annual Farmers Federation
stockholders meeting for Macon
County will be held Friday, March
9, beginning at 10 a. m., in the
Franklin store, it has been an
nounced by James McClure Clarke,
Federation executive vice-presi
; dent.
The Franklin store committee
will be up for re-election at this
time, and new members may be
added to the committee.
One county director will be
nominated and voted upon at the
annual meeting of all Farmers
Federation stockholders scheduled
for the Buncombe County Court
house in Asheville on March 24.
Each county in the Farmers
Federation territory Is represent
ed by two county directors who
serve two year terms with one of
the directors up for re-election
each year. Business reports will
be given by Farmers Federation
officials.
Music will be furnished by
"Panhandle Pete" and the Fann
ers Federation String Band dur- j
ing the meeting and free baby j
chicks will be given as door prizes.

ON 50th ANNIVERSARY
The children of Mr. and Mrs.
3eorge J. Conley held open house
for the couple at their home on
Iotla Street on Sunday, February
19, in observance of the Conley's
50th wedding anniversary.
The house was decorated
throughout with yellow carnations,
gladioli, chrysanthemums, snap
dragons. and red roses. The din
ing table was overlaid with an im
ported linen, hand embroidered
banquet cloth and centered with
i three-tiered wedding cake.

where Sfc. Dotson was stationed
for three years.

Airman Moses Spending
Leave Here; To Sing
Solo Over TV Hookup
Airman 2/c Joseph B. Moses is
spending a 15-day leave with his
parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lorenz
Moses, of Franklin, Route 5.
On his return to Tampa. Fla.,
he is scheduled to appear on a
local TV and radio hookup in
solo lead with the male chorus
of MacDill Air Force Base. He
also will sail soon for Nassau and
the Bahama Islands.
Cruses Are Conducting
Revival At Tesenta
The Rev. Floyd Cruse and the
Rev. Jack Cruse are preaching
in a revival which began Satur
day night. February 25. and will
continue for two weeks, at the
Tesenta Church of God. Services
begin nightly at 7:30. The public
is invited.
Miss Moore Joins
W.A.C.; Now Training
At Ft. McClellan, Ala.
Miss Louise Moore, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Will Moore, of the
Bethel community, has recently
joined the Womeris Army Corps.
She is now taking her W. A. C.
basic training at Fort McClellan,

Evans. Jr., is spending a 30-day
leave with his wife and family
A veteran of 13 year's service
in the U. S. Air Force, he has
been stationed with the 3225th
Drone Squadron at Holloman Air
Force Base, New Mex., since 1951.
He is the son of Mrs. Mattle
Evans, of Franklin.
