"Some of it I like and some I don't," he said pointedly, adding: "If they'd turn it on and play it a little, it'd be all right, but they play it all the time . . . I get wore out with it." Born In 1859 Born April 15, 1859, "Uncle Billy" was the son of Jim and Mrs. Sarah Ann Rogers. Except for a "little time" during the ?Civil War in Tennessee he's been pretty much of a "home body". He has 10 children living. They are Mrs. Isabelle Holland Most Popular Heating Is By Warm Air Number one on the home owner's hit parade of comfort devices is the warm air heating system. Its popularity seems to in crease with each passing year. A recent survey that was made among prospective home buyers across the nation show ed that the majority of those polled wanted forced warm air heating systems in their houses. "This is easily explained," states Sanford Mann of Frank lin Sheet Metal Company, local warm air heating dealer. "American home owners are be coming more and more aware of the comfort benefits and values of warm air winter air conditioning." "True indoor comfort is de pendent on much more than mere heating." Mr. Mann con tinues. "In addition to the tem perature of the air in your house, its movement, distribu tion, cleanliness, and moisture content is also mighty impor tant. It's the control of aB these factors which constitute what is known as 'air conditioning' . . . and the warm air winter air conditioning system will excercies the control over the indoor air in the wintertime." FRANKLIN SHEET METAL WORKS Franklin, N. C. and Mrs. Rosy Reed, of Gneiss; Mrs. Bessie Holland, Jim Mc Coy, John McCoy, of Cullasaja; Homer McCoy, of North Skeen ah; Mrs. Callle Dillard, of Wll lets; and Sherman McCoy, Sheridan McCoy, and Mrs. Brunettle McClure, of Goldmine. "Uncle Billy" celebrated his 97th birthday with a party Sun day before last. That was the day heavy rain sent the streams and rivers out of their banks and electrical storms hit around the clock. This kind of weather hurt the attendance at his party, but they still came from as far away as Michigan to be with him. "I enjoyed the day with them," he said, "but I didn't enjoy the day." ? Has Some Cause As for his long life, "Uncle Billy" remarked: "The good Lord, I guess, has some cause for it . . . but I've tried to lead a good life, be kind to everyone, and pay my debts."
